Hi, I am having problems after an update to Sonoma. History: I have a HP Elitebook 830 G5, it was set up as MacbookPro 14,1 and all services worked. Since Sonoma I updated the SMBIOS to 15,4. It works perfect apart from one thing. The Wifi card.
I used GENSmbios to generate a new ID, and then I use my Ethernet-MACadress as ROM. That's works great with all services as iMessage. But...when I switch to Wifi, iMessage and FaceTime stops working. There is no warnings its just that it does not deliver messages or phone. The Wifi card is Intel 8265. I have deleted prefs ans such cleared Nvram, but this problem was new to me....Any suggestions?
Hi, why did you switch from the previous SmBIOS that I presumed worked before?
I suggest go on to iCloud and remove the old machine from your account if still there if you still want to use the new one you created.

Once the old one is removed, sign out from the new one and then sign back in and see if that makes a difference.
You should also check the new SmBIOS details again i.e ROM, S/N, SmUUID etc to insure they conform with Apple's protocol. Good luck.

Thanks for tips, but 14,1 does not work with Sonoma.

You should be using iMac19,1 SMBIOS with your Coffee Lake system (shown in your User Profile).

If this was directed to me...Thanks, of course I am using 19,1 on that machine. Did I formulate my question so badly #7.186? I talk about a laptop HP Elitebook 830 G5 / i5 7200U that is also a build of mine. I hope that can be seen?

@danilovitch Yes it was aimed at you.
It wasn't clear if you were using iMac14,1 on the coffee lake system in your User Profile.
MacBookPro14,1 or 14,2 would be fine with your Kaby Lake HP Elitebook as long as you are running macOS Ventura or older.
As all Kaby Lake systems lost support with the release of Sonoma.

As you are running Sonoma you will need to change the SMBIOS to a Coffee Lake MacBookPro, i.e. a system that retains support for Sonoma. MacBookPro15,2 might be OK with a fake device-id for your IGPU.

Can somebody help me to fix my iServices? I have a strange problem where my services worked (facetime, imessage, home, sonoma widgets) on my Z390 Gigabyte and i5 9500 proc. Now I cant login to imessage/facetime, home doesnt work.
But I can login/logout from icloud in preferences/web.

I did not change any configuration.
Is there anything I could check/verify? I also looked the guide in this thread, but now I am lost.
No icloud account works - it must be something in hackintosh setup
Thank you

You are wrong, it usually is as easy as following the guide 'correctly' when setting your system to use the Apple Services such as Messages, iCloud and the App Store. The most common reason for these services not working is users not reading and following the guide correctly.

Why aren't you using the normal iMac19,1 SMBIOS with your Coffee Lake system? Why are you using iMacPro1,1? Your CPU, IGPU and dGPU are supported in macOS. You have no need to use a different SMBIOS than the native one for the Apple system you are copying.

Is the Serial Number you are using used by a real Mac?
Did you check this on the Apple Support page when you generated the SMBIOS?

Which WiFi/BT card are you using, the built-in card that came with the Gigabyte motherboard or a Broadcom card?

Which kexts have you added to your system, if you are using an INTEL WiFi/BT card?

Do you have an RX570 or an RX560 in your i5-9500/Z390 system? Your signature says RX570 and the User Profile says RX560. Which is correct?

First of all, thank you for responding.
I used iMacPro1,1 because it worked for me. And because of your words I checked again all the steps.

Now I made this steps:
  1. signed out from this iMacPro device and removed it from icloud.
  2. made new smbios iMac19,1 as you say for coffee lake system with genSMBIOS.
    1. checked the serial number at apples checkcoverage and it says "Please enter a valid serial number." so it should be ok i guess
    2. used other generated strings from genSMBIOS.
  3. en0 is correct and builtin
  4. nvram works

And for other things you mentioned:
  • I used gigabyte wifi and bluetooth card
  • Kexts: AirportItlwm,BlueToolFixup,IntelBluetoothFirmware,IntelBTPatcher
  • AMD Radeon RX 560 2 GB
Thank you again and I update my signature

Has changing the SMBIOS made any difference, are you able to sign in to Messages etc?
  1. Which version of macOS are you running?
  2. Do you have the correct Intel Bluetooth kexts installed, i.e.
    1. for Ventura v2.2.0 Stable release or
    2. for Sonoma v2.3.0 Alpha release.
  3. Do you have the latest BlueToolFixup.kext, v2.6.8?
