I got my message working but I notice my smUUID is blank in clover.

I notice my Hardware UUID is same after reboot so it seems the value remains the same.

Should I make new UUID and fill the blank and re activate it?

@todesto,

This just means that Clover is using your Motherboards/BIOS System_ID as the SmUUID (default behaviour for all OS's) ..... it should be fine unless your Mobo/BIOS suffers from the SId bug which clearly it does not. It's entirely up to you if you change it or leave it

I always like to specify the SmUUD so that all ID's making up the systems identity are contained in the config.plist which makes it easy to backup that 'personality' ... but it''s down to personal preference.

If all is working and your not experimenting with different identities and/or OS X versions then leave it as it is.

Cheers
Jay

That's the exact same situation I am in.
Check out the call customer support section of this guide. jaymonkey recently added a part about WAN IP bans for a specific Apple ID if two many devices come from it. I think that we both changed our values way too many times and Apple banned our Apple IDs from being registered to any more devices on our WAN IPs. That might explain why one would work but not the other. This is my guess, would love to have the opinion of someone more knowledgable. (pls jaymonkey)

I had the same situation, called apple with the support code and he said he unblocked my I.D but I was still unable to login. I kept getting transferred up the chain until I got to a rep of some sort but was still unable to fix the problem. I went to icloud dot com and looked under settings and my main I.D. has about 5 different Mac's listed under devices LOL. So my next step is too use this alternate I.D. and call Apple again, with the same serial. Using my mac address as ROM and MLB from serial with added chars. See where that gets me. :problem:

Wow. I checked and there are 5 iMac 27 inchs on my account o_O. Anybody know of a way to remove them?Coincidence that we both have 5?

Note to other people: This can probably be avoided by signing out of iCloud BEFORE changing your values. That way they will be removed from iCloud.com's settings. Not sure if this will affect iMessage, but it might. Signing out of iCloud before changing values should be added to the guide, in my opinion.

I guess we both changed our values the same amount of times. And about the signing out I'm not sure if that would affect it or not. Maybe the new "iMacs" get registered upon signing in with the apple I.D. under a new serial. I'll have to test that on a dummy account. I always get the customer code when trying to sign in but with my I.D that has 5 iMacs I was able to log in today but under Account it said inactive. Imma give apple a ring with the customer code from my new I.D and see where that gets me. After that I'll just start over with a new serial and MLB and figure out a way to generate a board serial. I'm out of ideas after this

To avoid too many Hacks on your account in future - If you are setting up your Hack through trial and error with different serials and values (Thats why Jay suggest to always disconnect your machine from internet until you are sure all values are good) Always signed those Hacks out of iCloud before you go on to adding yet another one to your account when you are setting up your Hack and its the only one you will be using. You can remove these from your account by signing into iCloud 'Find My Phone' but unfortunately in 'iCloud Settings' these Hacks will be still listed in your account for a set period of time until Apple remove them from the account.

So will they not be listed if

  1. I sign out of iCloud
  2. Create a new set of values while disconnected from the net
  3. Reboot, open iMessage, Test
And finally if I'm happy with the values then re-connect to the cloud?

Wouldn't that still list the new device once signed into iCloud with the new values?

EDIT

Ok so I signed in with my secondary I.D. (Haven't changed any values since creating this last week, always got the customer code) but tonight I was able to sign in with this I.D. but under preferences it still says inactive. This isn't the I.D. with 5 iMac's on it . Does this mean I'm getting close? Maybe a call can unblock it?

Same thing happened to me !

Ok this is another area to look at - If you are struggling to connect to the Apple Service i.e. F/Time and iMessage with your present values i.e. ROM, MBL, System Definition and Serial Number etc, you MUST sign out of iCloud before you change any of the fore-mentioned especially the Serial Number otherwise you will be registering another machine on your account and there is a limit to how many you are allowed.

Apple will log this machine to your account weather its working or not so before you change values remove it in iCloud just like if you were selling it or giving it away. It will still show up in 'iCloud Settings' as still yours but this is just for a period of time until its remove as yours on the Servers.

Once you've done that, disconnect from the internet and make any changes if you are going to change i.e. Serial, Rom, MBL, SmUUID etc. I suspect many of you are not able to log into iMsg/FTime because you've reached the maximum amount of machines attached to your IP address and or ID and got Blacklisted. Good Luck
