This is my experience: I'm very glad this thread exists!
I had been running my Hack with Mavericks and Multibeast 6.2.1 on a GA-Q77M-D2H *but* my on board ethernet had expired, so I had disabled that, and was running with a dual Intel card (HP NC 360T). Not long ago (less than a week), I suddenly stopped being able to send iMessages as every number was reporting that it 'wasn't registered with iMessages.
My iPhone, and Macbook Pros were fine, as was my Hack running MtnLion ;-)
After much messing about, including a number of the 'fixes' that involve deleting your keychain, and I wasn't able to even register for iMessages, no matter what I tried, it simply wouldn't work.
I had a looky at my main board and discovered a toasted inductor by the Ethernet chip, and decided this was as good a time as any to rebuild.
Picked up a GA-Z77-DS3H, rebuild *without* the Intel card, clean installed Mavericks, iCloud/Facetime/The works all working (no time machine restore), but still iMessages refusing to register:

Every damned time - the same as I was now getting on the
I played every game in the book including credit cards, keychains, re-installs, FileNVRAM 1.1.3 (yep....), no result.
I dropped FileNVRAM 1.1.2 in place as a last resort on a clean install. Worked first time, like it was never a problem.
Having run through the assorted console logs, I think we have one problem, multiple symptoms.
Follow me through this and stop me when I go wrong:
1. Apple changed *something* very recently.
2. That changed thing caused a number of registered iMessage users to be unable to send messages.
3. That changed thing caused a number of *unregistered* users to be unable to register, with symptoms nearly identical to the previous iMessage keychain issues, hence being indistinguishable.
4. This appears to be occurring on primarily Z77 based boards? <--- dodgy conclusion no.1 ;-)
5. In my case, a new motherboard and FileNVRAM 1.1.2 suddenly made it burst into life
6. In my case, unless I re-rebuild and try re-registering iMessages, I can't quite separate the issue of it being a new ethernet card, and FileNVRAM that fixed it.
Note - I have tried to keep everything as minimally changed from basic installation as possible on my systems:
Multibeast options after initial install with UniBeast and creating the recovery partition:
GA-Z77-DS3H, I7 3770, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 2048 MB, Corsair M4 SSD, 16Gb Ram and a PCI FireWire card.
DSDT Free, ALC887/888b Current, FakeSMC 6.0.1123 with plugins and monitors. Aetheros ALXEthernet v1.0.2, AppleRTC patch for CMOS Reset, Chimera 2.2.1, Basic Boot Options, Generate CPU States, 1080p Display Mode, Mac Pro 3,1
Everything works beautifully on it, including sleep (tiny exception of USB hubs... working on it!), audio and
(And thats it, nothing else until I dropped FileNVRAM in... and then it worked...).
Any thoughts?
Cheers
