Hi @kgp,

I wanted to send this via a message but I'm not allowed to do that. Just a quick note to say, I think your new EFI name is slightly incorrect if I am following your naming convection. You have EFI-X99-10.13.2-Release-160117.zip but it should probably be EFI-X99-10.13.2-Release-160118.zip.

Thanks for all your effort on this guide!

Yes sir, my bad :crazy:;) ... many thanks for pointing me to that lapsus :thumbup:

Seems that my brain unconsciously remained in 2017 :lol:

New EFI-Folder with correct filename convention implemented in and attached to the originating post of this thread/guide (and once more attached here blow).

All the best,

KGP :thumbup:

Hello @kgp ,
First of all thank you for your guides. I was able to success a Sierra installation on my hardware last year.
Now i'm trying to install High Sierra (formatted ssd and fresh install), with the newest EFI folder you updated yesterday, but I'm blocked on this screen and I cant' boot from usb installer. Before i had the same problem with OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000.efi
Any solution?
Thank you for your work!

If it does not work with OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000.efi either, the error is somewhere else...

Edit: Checked your EFI-Folder.. Everything seems alright...

BIOS settings?

I'm in a similar situatation. I installed High Sierra fine using an earlier version of this guide, but the latest is failing for me.

@wernezio I had the same issue. Two ways to solve it for me;

1. Swap back to OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000.efi and remove the new driver or;
2. Enable the "ALZA -> HDEF" line in the Acpi tab of Clover.

@kgp Once I've done one of the two options above, I can proceed. The boot seemingly works until it gets near the end of the boot, at which point I get the message about waiting for root device along with the blocked graphic on screen and the display goes a bit wonky.

Currently trying to diagnose why it can't proceed - but from what I understand that generally means something is up with the USB device not being found. I didn't have this issue last time - so not sure what my next steps should be to diagnose.

I'm installing with the same USB stick and slot on my motherboard as last time.

Hi @kgp !! I changed my mobo and I've bought my new asus x99-a II and reconfigured all my system. Now I follow your guide again and everything is working 100% :) But I have one question... My XMP jumper is enabled, in bios too, and jumper CPU is in position 2-3, like you said. But with my 6900k (8 cores) I obtain same score that without them.

Bios settings:
Sync all cores activated
ASUS Multicore Enhaced: activated

Same score with cpu jumer in 1-2 and in 2-3. SSDT is well configuared in 4.2ghz. My score is 33600 (more or less), is the normal score for this config, I want to know how to get more! When you activated Sync All Cores with CPU jumer, you get 7000 more points with your CPU, but for me, same result. How can I improve it?

Hello, I have the same problem (with this hardware : asus X99-E, i7 5820k)
Tell me if you find the solution. Thank you

The CPU jumper on 2-3 will at first place change nothing but provide more OC options in your mobo BIOS and support OC of the CPU with higher core voltages, if manually implemented such by yourself in the BIOS!

I have the exact same hardware as you do, and I am still figuring this out. I'll post some results when I get this to work.
