hi there,
I followed P1LGRIMs guide to the letter and it worked flawless
(facetime no errors, icloud no errors, app store no errors) for me despite my computer illiteracy ;-) Kudos, OP really delivered!
Now i'm having a new problem: messages quits unexpectedly and is so unfortunately unusable.
This is on the old rig as described in the sig, but now running on Sierra 10.12.6 (which I put off moving to, much too long...), the user account was also moved from a time machine backup from last year. this account is verrrry old, I think I have it since os x came out, and it was used on former macs which had messages working under Lion and moved on to the hack which also started with Lion respectively Mountain Lion.
My search with google for "messages sierra quit unexpectedly" and "messages quit unexpectedly" didn't bring up to much, that's why I'm asking here for help.
Among the few things I found was:
https://www.hackintosh-forum.de/index.php/Thread/30683-Messages-application-opens-and-closes/
with the recommendation to delete a few files, restart and it should run. I followed these instructions and all worked aside of one line, which returned an error:
myMachine:~ user5$ cd ~/Library/Caches/
myMachine:Caches user5$ rm -R com.apple.Messages*rm: com.apple.Messages*: No such file or directory
myMachine:Caches user5$ rm -R com.apple.imfoundation*
myMachine:Caches user5$ cd ~/Library/Preferences/
myMachine
references user5$ rm com.apple.iChat*
myMachine
references user5$ rm com.apple.imagent*
myMachine
references user5$ rm com.apple.imessage*
myMachine
references user5$ rm com.apple.imservice*
myMachine
references user5$ rm -R ~/Library/Messages/
looking at the logs reveals nothing for me, here's an excerpt of the last one hth:

I can paste the rest also, but this would make this post even longer as it already is...
Many thanks in advance for looking into this, this would be a major milestone on the way to a fully functional hack again!
