I kept all my information the same (as recommended), I waited patiently as instructed, and now my iMessage is working again.

Thank you!

@All,

Happy iMessage times indeed .....

To those of you who refrained from going down the cloning of MLB & ROM values route ... well done your patience has been rewarded - although i'm just as surprised as everyone else at the complete u-turn Apple seems to have done. We can only speculate as to why but i suspect that the wide spread use of cloned values has caused Apple so much trouble that they have decided to remove the enhanced ID verification checks.

To those who are still having issues - do not use cloned values, if you have a backup of your config.plist or /extra folder from when iMessage was working then go back to using those ID values and try again.

If all else fails then read the main guide and follow each step, ensure S/N, SmUUID MLB & ROM are correct and persistent, AppleID is validated .. etc

I'll be working on the new release / layout of the guide for the next day or so.
But please keep the feed back rolling-in.

Finally thanks everyone for the birthday wishes - much appreciated.

Cheers
Jay

Hi Jay

I did resort to using clone id's just a few days ago. When I enter my old ID's I get a message "An error occurred during activation. Try Again." I have tried removing network.plist. I have tried removing all the plist files mentioned in the Guide. I have tried naming my ethernet en0. Nothing seems to get me past this message. As soon as I entered the clone ID's I get straight onto iMessage. Any suggestions? I'm using clover.

Happy Birthday. Sorry if I missed it and am too late

Cheers
Cameron

For some reason, i get a (null) on my boardserialnumber,

I am using latest chameleon 2.3 v2570, with nvram 1.14.

I have the sid bug, but i injected a uuid and it works ok, now the only thing left is for me to inject a boardserialnumber.

I tried generating new values from chameleon wizard, but the boardserialnumber always stays null.

Any thoughts ?

So for those of us who generated MLB,Serial and ROM values following the guidelines of the insanelymac thread, called Apple and got white listed days or weeks ago.... Will our setup still work?

I'm curious as I'm away from my hackintosh for several days, but had fixed the problem a couple weeks ago and everything had been working perfectly since then.

Should continue to work for you as is .....

what about this warning in clover bootlog
(15:275 0:000 ** Warning: Your MLB is not suitable for iMessage(must be 17 chars long) !)!!

@pbreaker80m,

That popped up on the other forum ... it's nothing to worry about, since Cover tends to always generate a 17 digit MLB it expects to see one inn your config plist. it's just a warning, anyone who is using 13 digit mlb and booting with clover should see this warning .. but you can safely ignore it.

If you want you could go back to using self generated 17 digit MLB if you still have the values from the last time iMessage worked with 17 digit MLB, i've gone back to my old values from this time last year on two systems and all is working well (with 2FA).

Cheers

Could someone please tell me what i'm doing wrong. I just cant make iMessage work.
Here is what i did:

- Deleted all iMessage Preferences .plist and everything else mentioned in the tutorial
- created a unique Serial Number with Chameleon Wizard matching my current system definition
- using Clover Configurator's Magic Wand created a SMBIOS for iMac 14,2 and copied the previously created S/N into the Serial Number field.
- Copied the S/N into the Board Serial Number and added 5 letters to make it 17 chars long
- using "uuidgen" create a SmUUID and entered it into the SmUUID field
- in RtVariables i set my en0 MAC Address as ROM and MLB the same as Board Serial Number
- set "Inject System ID" to true but left CustomUUID empty
- Rebooted my System
- checked twice with iMessageDebug2 if the Variables remained after a reboot (they did)

this is what iMessage Debug returned:

Everything seems fine but still after calling Apple Care and telling them the Consumer Code i cant log in into iMessage or FaceTime.

One thing I found out after experimenting for a few times (with no Internet connection of course)
When i disable "Inject System ID" in Clover iMessage Debug returns BoardSerialNumber: failure
Could this mean that my AppleID is blocked?
Please Help.
