I have question. Can I connect Nvidia card on slot 1 and my RX 580 AMD to slot 2?
I will use slot 1 for Windows and slot 2 for macOS.
Any suggestions for the required configuration in BIOS and/or in EFI?
There is a section in post 1:
Disabling a GPU in PCIe Slot 2

maybe swap your video cards around?

Some comments:
  • In BIOS, try setting Thunderbolt Boot Support to Boot Once or anything other than Disabled.
  • Regarding the MacBook Pro:
    • Are you setting it into Target Disk Mode from System Preferences --> Startup Disk?
    • When you reboot the MacBook Pro, does it enter Target Disk Mode?
    • If so, do you then connect Thunderbolt cable to the Hackintosh?
  • If there is only one Thunderbolt port on your system, is DSB4deleted from Thunderbolt SSDT?
    • Simply search SSDT for "DSB4". If it exists, delete the entire Device. This is not strictly necessary, but should be done to avoid defining a device that does not exist.
I am using thunderbolt3 bridging to connect,Later in the day I was tweaking and testing。

Multi-monitor support exists in macOS, but we have to see for ourselves...
  • Which monitor the BIOS screen appears on
  • Which monitor the macOS login screen appears on
  • Whether both monitors will sleep and wake properly
@CaseySJ I also have another issue with an MSI monitor 32" at 144Hz; when I switched to 144Hz, the screen went black and didn't refresh back to 60Hz, so I needed to reconnect the oldest monitor.
What can I do? Do I need any sort of hack/patch to make it work?

I also noticed that any setup from system preferences on the monitor acted weird, such as the night switch didn't work; any time I tried to make it warmer, the MSI monitor wanted to make it bright/white.

I would like to answer your question, but I still didn't find a way to connect the second monitor; since I reconnected it as the first monitor, so first I should solve the 144Hz issue. I would appreciate your help. Thanks

(I want to remind you that my graphic card is a Gigabyte RX 560 OC 4GB if that info is needed)

I don't know why it became DC, before it was D8.
I reflash the firmware, it's still DC, does that matter?

HI CaseySJ:

I've given up on looking for problems and flashed back to the original firmware 14.0 by used the SSDT-TbtOnPch_PINI.aml method to load the Thunderbolt 3 port.
At least occasionally link to my MacBook Pro on Thunderbolt bridge, and it works well.
Thank you for your help these days! Good luck!

Glad to hear it. With Alpine Ridge controllers we recommend trying both (a) SSDT-TbtOnPch and (b) flashing firmware to see which one works best. In your case the SSDT is the better choice; it may not be perfect, but if it allows your devices to connect then it’s good enough.

Have you tried a cold boot?
Yes I tried that indeed. It seems that the whole OS is acting funky. I think I will do a fresh install if if continues like this. It randomly reboots now after a minute or a few.
