Nvidia 550Ti Sleep / Wake / Freeze Thread

i have no luck with l4d2 ty anyway

Smart Asss or Dump Asss idea .... ?

What about pmset options.

Is there a possibility to force the memory to be written to disk to a sleep image. If the system wants to sleep it will write the hibernation or memory content to a sleep image. After that it will shutdown itself instead of going to sleep. To wake up you should turn on the system again and it should boot as normal but it will load the hibernation file. With current SSD's the wake up can be done in 20 - 30 seconds ... Maybe this is an acceptable workaround.

Somebody know how to do this ?

Cheers

This isn't a fix post, but just thought I'd let you all know, I just spoke to an nvidia rep. They said that they don't develop the drivers, and that it's apple that should be developing the fix. Essentially, according to them, the ball is in apple's court. I'm going to call them in a few minutes and see what they say. However, in regards to the time frame in which they may develop the driver for it, it's looking pretty bleak. Apple released Lion on July 20, 2011, and the Lion driver release date wasn't until February 27, 2011. Almost 6 months later...

I'll post an update as soon as I speak to apple.

Apple here how can we help you ? ... Yeah Tony here from Tonymacx86 ... I want to make a complaint ... My hack isn't working ....
Oh let me see ... Can you send us your DSDT / IOREG / symbiosis.plist / oh and wich boot loader do you use ... We will come back to you later ...

Just joking :)

It is not illegal to have OSX on a PC System if you have bought the OSX. I really don't feel guilty.

And one more thing, the Sleep/Wake issue is caused by "GeForce.kext" & "GeForceGLDriver.bundle" and Apple or nVidia needs to fix this.

Waiting for Apple? Ugh. Waiting for Apple is half the reason I ended up building a hack in the first place. I'm out. Switching for a 560Ti.

Well, I just got off the phone with apple. Told them I built a hack pro because I didn't wanna pay their egregious prices for a computer that is weaker than an average build, but I was having trouble with the 550ti. The tech said that he was very sorry to hear about the issues, and that he would check in to see if there was anything that had been documented in his files. He came back after a few minutes and said that it has been noted in the engineering docs, and that they are indeed working on it. He said it would most likely be coming out in the next update (10.8.1). I asked him if there was a timeframe set on it, but he didn't know when it would be coming out, but there was a 60 day gap between 10.7 and 10.7.1, he speculated that it would be a similar wait. Ergo, we'd have about a 40 day wait should they stick to their previous release schedules.

OK, thanks!

Well, you have asked them for the 550ti, but what for all other nVidia Cards that have this issue? Maybe they can fix for 550ti, and all others are ****ed up.

Still not a solution. But after editing NVDAGF100Hall, NVDAResman and AGPM for the first time I have this result in kernel.log:

This can help someone to solve the issue?

You still shouldn't feel guilty, but you should know you are in direct violation of the EULA by installing OSX on 'foreign' (non-apple) hardware. The fourth line reads :
"For use on Apple-branded Systems"

Not going to stop me, and you can't tell me that a large percentage of that three million downloads apple is boasting for Mtn. Lion didn't end up on Hackintosh, I really believe that it is something that Apple is very aware of and their are reasons why they seem to be supporting more and more hardware.
