@markart I've tried running them without FreezeFix.app and sadly I've been able to reproduce the infamous fermi freeze. I put my display to sleep (ctrl-shift-eject) and awaken it again a couple of times and eventually my system has frozen... Perhaps it wouldn't freeze with normal usage, but I didn't want to use my hackintosh in fear that it might freeze. I'd recommend using FreezeFix.app with the new drivers for now, I've got no problems whatsoever with it.

PS: I've got a GTX 560 Ti, so your experiences with 550 Ti might be different, but I doubt so.

Which Smbios profile are you using?, I think the nvidia drivers work for the best if you use MacPro Profile. In fact if you use them and you are using a macbookpro profile it freezee in safari or in quicktime as soon as you try some videos.

I´m using this new Nvidia 10.8.4 web drivers with a custom fake MacBook Pro 8,4 profile with darkwake=0 as boot option and for the las week none a single freeze with my GTX560M.

Good Luck

Hey there,

I've lurked this thread for quite a while now. I had troubles getting dual screen to work and i got a freeze by switching from fullscreen to window mode. This was 10.8.2. After upgrading to 10.8.4 i had the usual Audio fixing to do, but i could't still figure out how to get wake and dual screen to work until i added these lines to my boot.plist:

Code:
<key>device-properties</key>
<string>720200000100000001000000660200000d00000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000010101060000007fff04001e00000072006f006d002d007200650076006900730069006f006e000000310000006e5669646961204765466f7263652047545820353530205469204f70656e474c20456e67696e65205b4546495d22000000400030002c006400650076006900630065005f00740079007000650000000b000000646973706c6179100000004e00560043004100500000001800000004000000000003000c00000000000007000000000e0000006e0061006d00650000000b000000646973706c617914000000400030002c006e0061006d0065000000120000004e5644412c446973706c61792d41100000006d006f00640065006c0000001d0000006e5669646961204765466f72636520475458203535302054690e0000004e00560050004d000000200000000100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000014000000400031002c006e0061006d0065000000120000004e5644412c446973706c61792d4220000000400031002c0063006f006d00700061007400690062006c00650000000e0000004e5644412c4e564d6163220000005600520041004d002c0074006f00740061006c00730069007a0065000000080000000000004020000000400030002c0063006f006d00700061007400690062006c00650000000e0000004e5644412c4e564d616322000000400031002c006400650076006900630065005f00740079007000650000000b000000646973706c61791c0000006400650076006900630065005f00740079007000650000000f0000004e5644412c506172656e74</string>

it has been two days now. No crashes. Sleep/Wake and Dual Screen is working fine. I didn't have to use the crash fix.

You can follow my guide on page 117 to update from 10.8.3 or 10.8.4 to 10.8.5.
As you know, GTX do work natively, BUT it's unstable. You have to install Freeze Fix App, to solve the random freezes problem.
If you want, you can install nVidia official drivers and CUDA drivers, as I did.
But aside from that, you didn't need to install anything else, and all will work fine.

thanks for the information.
I'm still at 10.7.4. I work with Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, etc. ... and I need OpenCL active.
I would like to do a clean install to 10.8.5.
is it possible? and then follow the guide to fix app?

(sorry for my bad English always)

Don't worry about your english, mine's not better either.

You can follow the guide, BUT the code to activate OpenCL after the update will not work. Don't worry, I have the new code.

After updating to 10.8.5, you must paste this command on the Terminal in order to fully activate OpenCL:

Code:
sudo perl -pi -e '$c+=s/\x8b\x81\x1c\x0c\x00\x00\xeb\x06\x8b\x81\x20\x0c\x00\x00/\xb8\x02\x00\x00\x00\x90\xeb\x06\xb8\x00\x00\x00\x00\x90/; END { printf "%s: %d substitution%s made.\n",($c==1 ? "Success" : "Error"),$c,(!$c || $c>1 ? "s" : ""); $?=($c!=1); }' /System/Library/Extensions/GeForceGLDriverWeb.bundle/Contents/MacOS/libclh.dylib

And that's all. :)
