Hey Shilohh!

First off, I want to thank you for this amazing guide you wrote and for answering people's questions and keeping the feed alive all this time. It's great to have ongoing support and a community around.

I went with a very similar build to Eric's. I've got a RIVBE, 2 GTX 770 4GB EVGA, 64GB of Ram (2 monitors (display port and dvi) running on 10.10.1 with CUDA working(os x drivers). I used the ssdt you made for misteravid (v5) to get both cards working.

Even though that was my first build, I had no specific difficulty getting the machine to boot OS X. I noticed something though that could have been a tiny bit clearer in your guide for first-timers like me. At no point you spoke about injecting the nvidia drivers through the config.plist. When I wasn't booting with nv_disable=1, I would constantly boot to black screens. It took me hours before I understood that I had to inject the drivers.

Now, for me, the difficult tasks begin.

Like Poine, HWsensors only give me hard drive temps. I tried removing fakesmc kext before installing but that only crashed my machine. Went back to where I was before, meaning nowhere and with no clue.

Im waiting on figuring that one out before I can start OCing the CPU and ram. I'm also hoping you'll eventually make a guide on OCing, as I don't know much about overclocking and hope not to eff it up.

Once that is done, I will integrate speedstep.

One major annoyance in my build is the fact that sleep doesn't ever wake up. Actually it seems to wake up, as I can hear the fans but the displays don't turn back on. I've been struggling on this one and any help would be greatly appreciated. I tried to switch bios (one is 0603, the other one is the latest (0801)) with no success. I changed many parameters in the bios to see if that would do anything. As I intend to really make it my everyday workstation, I really would love for the machine to seemlessly hibernate.

I was was also wondering why the audio out on the case panel doesn't work, if that was only me or everybody with the ACL 1150. Anyway, that one is really no big deal, just wondering.

Cheers and thanks againfor having taken the time to share what you know!

discoman, unless you already have that RAM in your board, I would recommend only sticking with X79-environment rated RAM in these builds (G.Skillz Ripjawsz)

Hey guys, I just posted my build on the other forum but I didn't get much response. It's very similar build to this one, with a couple of small changes (Black Edition Board, different HDDS, etc). Could you guys tell me if this will work before I buy it? Thank you!

Hello Koteto, all of those parts will work together :)

I have built now 7 of shilohh's machines for work and my partlist is very similar :) I HIGHLY recommend the X79 Gskillsz RAM!

Thanks Shilohh for all your work, finished my first build today!! using your guide

Thank you so much cwith!

We extract the dsdt (part of the BIOS's acpi tables), patch it and tell the bootloader to load our patched version (which is static and stays the same until we change it) instead of the BIOS's dsdt which is dynamic based on installed hardware and bios settings. Because our patched dsdt is not changed by the bios when we swap pci hardware, the machine may cease to boot because of wrong pci information in our pached dsdt that doesn't match the new hardware.

Going to get around to testing my new GPU issues that it sounds like the DSDT is causing (won't boot Yosemite).

Are there some Clover boot flags that might be required to boot with no DSDT installed on the EFI partition? (just for testing before making a new DSDT if that indeed is the issue)

Here is a resource on how to make BT and Wifi 5Ghz work on 10.10.1 with the RIVBE bcm4352.

Look at the post at the end of this page.

http://forum.osxlatitude.com/index....and-bluetooth-combo-card-for-notebooks/page-5

Simply using the BTFirmwareUploader kext caused a kernel panic when following this guide didn't.

It works perfectly fine, bluetooth might not be the most responsive I've ever seen but it's really stable and wifi 5Ghz is actually much faster than with my macbook pro.

Hey Shilohh, I followed your and MK500's previous guide for the R4E with the 3930K, and decided to do a fresh install to upgrade to Yosemite, but am having a couple issues I'm hoping you can help me with. I have successfully completed the install but still cannot boot from the Mac OS Drive, I have to go through the USB Bootloader where I inject Nvidia Graphics and remove the disable nv flag and boot normally and everything works fine, all hardware is recognized by OSX. When I boot from the HDD however I do not get the Clover Bootloader screen, it jumps right to the Apple logo loading page, where the bar gets approximately half way (takes 20-30 seconds) before crashing and restarting the PC. I have changed the config file on the EFI partition, removing the disable nvidia and changing the inject nvidia graphics to yes, as that's how I get it to boot through the USB, but no dice. I have followed the rest of guide thoroughly, with the EFI Clover partition and all kexts/DSDT installed correctly, and SSID and UUID have been modified in config.

Any suggestions would be fantastic, when I get home for work ill add the -v boot flag to the config file and see if I can get it to boot in verbose so I can see what is happening, I assume it is a kernel panic. I added the VoodooTsync kext (I think that was the one required for the 2011 Socket CPU's, but that gave me no results either.

Thanks in advance

Anyone else had any issues booting with the HWSensors Plugins installed?
