Just a random question. I built a new machine last week, and it's smokin'. A 7920X with the ASUS X299-A motherboard. I'm getting 2830 on cinebench, a huge jump from my 700-800 score on my previous hack, the 3930K from 2012 with a gigabyte x79-up4 motherboard.
I had a GTX 980 in the...

I've followed a few guides and got my overclock stable at 4.6Ghz. Running 10.9.2, the OC is based on an offset of .010.
System is stable both at idle (left it on for a few days) and running "yes /dev/null/" tests in Terminal for 24 hours.
Temps max out at 60C according to HWMonitor.
You may have noticed that your CPU runs at its max clock speed on a vanilla hackintosh install. This is bad for two reasons - it is actually slower than the normal stepping curves Intel generates (no turbo boost), and wastes a ton of power/CPU life. Fear not - you can inject an SSDT into Clover...
Mavericks was getting a bit long in the tooth, and I finally got the courage up to attempt a fresh El Cap install on my little beasty after re-visiting this tremendous resource/community here at Tonymac. Man, you people are amazing! Thanks so much for all you do for helpless noobs such as...

I remember that OSX used to detect my 3930K as a Xeon processor, but, since the latest Chimera update it started to show as unknown.
I manually modded it to show even more "accurate" information
But other applications, such as MachineProfile, still fails to correctly detect my CPU. Also...
Today I purchased a PC that I believe is Hackintosh compatible, could someone please clarify this for me?

Forgive me but I'm not clear on what to do. I had audio for a while under Lion, then it randomly disappeared. Cut to me updating to Mavericks and still I have no audio. I did find something that seemed pretty dense in regards to how to enable audio but, for the life of me, I'm unable to...
Shilohh's Build for Eric:

During installation I get to the "Install OS X" screen. From what I've understood I need to partition my sad during this stage using Disk Utilities. The problem here is the fact that I can't click on...
I'm wondered, I have readed that in 10.9.2 most X79 CPU's now have SpeedStep working OOB, and some other people say that's wrong.
I have noticed my CPU (3930K) actually change frequencies, but not sure if that means I have SS enabled features.
Is there any new information about it?
