Unless you inject the cards into the acpi tables you'll have bugs. I'm supprised you didn't have issues with 2 cards. I use SSDTs for injecting all off board devices. I've been meaning to create a guide for this but haven't gotten around to it so it will be faster for me to just make you some. Please save me an ioreg so I can see the addresses of slots your cards are in. Also you should remake your dsdt and see if that helps.

Here is a copy of my ioreg from IOregistryExplorer

I have re-created my DSDT a couple of times using your guide but that doesn't seem to help

No. The BIOS and settings are stored on a chip on the mobo so erasing the drive won't effect it.

So Fantastic! Everything is up and I'm slowly downloading CC apps back. Audio works, super stable, all is well.

Thank you so much!

Would it be possible to do this build with two 3GB Nvidia graphics cards or one 6GB card?

Here are 2 SSDT sets (1 with HDMI Audio injection on every card and 1 without). If the ones w HDMI audio don't work, use the ones without. You need to add or overwrite SSDT1-3 in EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched.

Please report your results.

OMG!!!

I installed the SSDT sets with HDMI and the system boots every single time without issue. WOW! Thank you so much. I was at my wits end.
I really appreciate this!

With the 3x cards I'm able to get almost 90 FPS in resolve 69 with noise filtering on BMCC 1080p clips!!!

First off, apologies to everyone. I have been very busy.

I don't have any personal experience with AMD cards on the Hackintosh side. I also stopped using final cut when they released FCP x. You should research and see what other AMD users are experiencing and compare OpenCL bench results with those of the nvidia cards to get an idea of what would perform best. Also make sure you look into any added difficulties that may arise from going AMD. I've seen users report all kinds of problems with the r9 2xx cards but that may not be the case anymore.

Hey Shilohh "ChrisBialek" here, I reformatted and reinstalled everything last night and installed Yosemite I'm only running into two issues hopefully you can help me with.

First is my WiFi adapter no longer works is there a DSDT or a Kext that enables the Wifi adapter, I know in Mavericks I had it working (I haven't installed the Bluetooth adapter yet) does that have something to do with enabling the WiFi also?

Secondly, my audio (Green Ports) work fine, but my Microphone (Pink Ports) both front and rear do not work is there some way of getting those to work that you know of it seems that the microphone is providing feedback and noise but it's not registering that feedback/noise within the OS (In the sound panel or in applications).

As always THANK YOU so much.

My first guess would be failing hard drive or ssd. Try booting the USB installer. If that doesn't work I'd suspect failing ram, motherboard or CPU. You'll want to do some research on troubleshooting these items. Also, have you tried booting a windows install?

Hi Shilohh,

thanks a lot for all the suggestions! Yesterday I tried removing the Corsair RAM modules one by one and voila, one of them was faulty. I can finish the editing now. :) 16 GB will do for this project and then I'll have the 4 x 8 GB Corsair kit replaced.

Thanks again.

I used your tutorial to install a custom mac pro 6,1, but i've got a problem.
When i open Boot Camp Assistant, it says "you must update your computer's Boot ROM firmware before using this setup assistant." Do u know how this happened?

@defjam,
You're welcome and no problem. We all get busy. Do still think there is a problem with the gpu?

I'm not overly sure. I probably could have ignored the benchmark scores, but I also play Eve Online and run 4 clients at once. I used to have a 560 GT and when I upgraded to my 770 GT I didn't notice any increase in FPS when all 4 clients were busy, i.e. when lots was happening I ended up with video lag, not massive lag but it never really went away with the GPU upgrade which is what made suspicious. Don't get me wrong, it's totally useable, but it's one of those things that sits in the back of your mind and bugs you until you know for certain that it's not actually any issue caused by the underlying hardware.
