I'm tinkering around with integrating a Vizio V405-G9 40" 4K TV to my setup. However, I'm only able to run it at 30Hz. Is there something I'm overlooking? I searched through this thread but wasn't able to find anything conclusive. Holding Option in the display preferences doesn't bring up any extra settings. I'm connecting to my Port 1 of my RX580 via HDMI 2.0 cable. TV is set to computer mode which enables 4:4:4 chroma sub sampling.

It's ironic that I posted this only yesterday! And yes I know that is not helpful...

You have an HDMI 2.0 cable and Computer Mode is enabled. The TV does not support HDR or Deep Color, so that's not an issue. The specs do state 4K at 60Hz. At this point it might be good to try SwitchResX?

-I did apply thermal paste to cpu before placing cooler back on.
- I have a connected the 8 pin to ATX_12V_2X4
I also have the 2x2 connected
And yes temps are normal

I suppose we should just wait for the replacement components and see what happens. This is truly bizarre and puzzling...

this was the replacement board and sapphire 5700xt w/ new NVMe the only thing that wasn’t replaced was my ram.

trust me I’m as puzzled and baffled as you friend. This couldn’t be an issue with ram could it? I tried xmp disabled and profile 1

What is the make/model of your RAM? Has it ever been "memtest"ed?

Small update for those in the audio field, hoping to daisy chain devices.

I can successfully run an Apollo 8P and my UAD Octo Satellite by daisy chaining them via Thunderbolt.
So: Designare z390 USB-C/TB3 -> USB-C/TB3 to TB2 Apple Adapter -> Apollo 8P -> Satellite Octo

No problems so far.

My older silver Apollo with an updated TB3 card and Octo Satellite also work daisy chained. But I have to power them on after booting to avoid audio glitching. I’m on Catalina. Are you experiencing the same thing? Trying to figure out if it’s a hardware or macOS version issue.

Thanks for the detailed answers. Some more questions:

• Are you able to boot directly from the Catalina SSD?
  • If not, what error do you see if you boot with -v (verbose) turned on?
• Have you tried re-flashing the BIOS and re-configuring BIOS parameters?
• If you remove the USB disk and boot normally, but choose Recovery at the Clover Boot Menu, do you still get the same error, "Error loading kernel cache"?

Some "Plan B" questions:

• Before upgrading to Catalina, for how long were you running Mojave? Days, weeks, months?
• Do you have many apps and documents on the internal SSD?

Well sir using the boot options with -v ( verbose) directly from Catalina SSD giving me the error for kernel also I have also uploaded the screenshot for the same.

Already tried BIOS reflashing and reconfigured it.

Well, I have hidden all the other boot options from clover except Catalina HDD and windows HDD options are visible on the screen


Before upgrading to Catalina, I was using machine more than a year nothing happened when we got and update for Catalina that is 10.15.1, and it’s stopped working for me.

I tried flashing everything from the scratch it work for few days, and, after few days, getting the error I shared in my previous posts.

Well, I had already flush the SSD so there is no such important data and apps on the drive right now.
