[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

HDMI works on boot! Just no longer have the Mac OS scaled resolutions. I have to separately enable HiDPI resolutions and refresh rate limited to 30/24Hz via HDMI.
I believe the HDMI port on that motherboard is version 1.4 (limited to 4K30) instead of HDMI 2.0 (4K60)?

There are some issues with multi-monitor and 4K. Please see this post:

Someone recommended adding this to your Boot arguments to address multi-monitor issues: "agdpmod=vit9696"

Thanks any downside to activating HS12?
No practical downsides. The extra port just consumes a little extra power. I would, however, re-test sleep and wake just to be sure.

I have same problem..
Will you let me know the way to make FakeSMC show Fandspeed and voltage info ?
Welcome to the forum!

We are all waiting for the developers of FakeSMC and VirtualSMC to address these shortcomings with regard to Fan Speed and Voltage. I'm sure you'll see a lot of excitement from the forum once (or if) this is done!

LOL! And yes it's really a great system.

Oh thanks.. Sleep actually doesn't work for me but I will retest with your modification. I just unchecked put disk to sleep and it's functional (monitor dims and wakes up etc) ..

Small update for those in the audio field, hoping to daisy chain devices.

I can successfully run an Apollo 8P and my UAD Octo Satellite by daisy chaining them via Thunderbolt.
So: Designare z390 USB-C/TB3 -> USB-C/TB3 to TB2 Apple Adapter -> Apollo 8P -> Satellite Octo

No problems so far.
