Copy only these files to /Library/Extensions:

• FakeSMC_ACPISensors.kext
• FakeSMC_CPUSensors.kext
• FakeSMC_GPUSensors.kext
• FakeSMC_LPCSensors.kext
• FakeSMC_SMMSSensors.kext

And then run Kext Utility to rebuild kernel cache. When you launch this utility it will immediately begin to repair file permissions and rebuild kernel caches. Just wait until the "Quit" button appears on the bottom right of the window. Then reboot and you're done.

Thanks to your SSDT wizardry, I can now confirm that the front two USB 2.0 ports work, and the H115i platinum + Bluetooth USB Host Controller from the Fenvi card now show up in system report using the NZXT Internal USB Hub (with the Fractal Define R6 Case).

I have a couple questions and thoughts that I'm hoping you can answer if it's not too much trouble:

I followed this part in the guide: "Specifying Device Names And Types". After putting the two entries in for the USB Host Controller + Broadcom card, I was experiencing a huge drop in wifi on my Fenvi card in the bottom X1 slot. Using speed test, I was getting 303 ping and 5mbps down. This wasn't happening before that change. I tested the internet speed with another laptop and it was working properly.

After rolling back that change, my wifi is working properly with proper speeds. Perhaps there is something weird going on? Since this part of the guide is purely cosmetic, I'm planning to skip it.

Interesting... Just tested this via SpeedTest app on my system and WiFi speed is equivalent to my wired Gigabit speed with the custom properties. Both are about 170 Mbps.

The part in your guide: "Spoiler: Additional tip for users of Pro video/audio apps"... is it necessary to make these changes? I don't have a Vega card (RX580 here), but I do plan on using some pro audio apps. Do you happen to have links in the forum to some user experiences testing these changes out?

I was hoping to wait for 10.14.5 and switch to the new iMac stuff to gain 9th gen cpu support anyway, and my system seems to be functioning great right now all things considered.

Changing to iMacPro1,1 should provide improved rendering speed, but I would wait until 10.14.5 to make such a change. For all we know, iMac19,1 may provide even better performance than iMacPro1,1. However beta versions of 10.14.5 still do not seem to recognize the i7-9700K and i9-9900K processors.

Do you happen to have a guide and/or experience with moderate to low overclocking on this system? I'd like to overclock, but really low. This is the first PC I've ever built so I'm a total noobie.

Do you have a link to a guide to make a bootable backup with EFI folder intact? I've seen your posts mentioning how to do it throughout this entire thread, but having a guide would be super handy.

Good question. I've followed some guides for adding a post-clone script to CCC, but it does not seem to work. So for now I manually backup the EFI folder.

I'm just waiting on a TB 3 to 2 converter cable from apple to test some thunderbolt devices (one that's not on your list). I'll make another post when I can properly test it.

Actually this is less of a guide and more of an explanation of the procedures that I use in my own builds in order to enable access to the App Store, iMessage and FaceTime. Do not be offended by the term 'iDiot', it is not intended as an insult but more my attempt at a humorous play on words...

Reason: The prescribed steps have a detoxifying effect on several network-related settings. Your motherboard does not contain any other WiFi/BT adapters (which is a common cause of Fenvi-related problems) so it seems like a good idea to pursue a general cleanup strategy first.

And if you have a spare SSD on which you can perform a fresh install of Mojave, that may also be worth trying. Will the Fenvi card work with a fresh install? If so, it would point to some conflicting kext or preferences file in your main installation.

Well after going through those steps, it didn't change anything, but thanks for the suggestion.

In the midst of adjusting some other things in my configuration, I managed to mess up the configuration somehow. So then I went nuclear, updated the BIOS (which was quite an adventure on this board, it was behaving very strangely so I ended up having to reset the CMOS a few times) and changed some other things and started with a somewhat fresh config.list and suddenly it's all working damn near perfectly (though for an i5-9600K my geekbench score of 5997 seems a little weak - I'm using iMac 19,2 system def., RX590) Right now I'm left trying to figure out why it won't go into deep sleep like it used to (back when the Fenvi wifi wasn't working properly).

I'm thinking that I may have a faulty WiFi card or adapter. Here's what I'm planning on trying when I get home tonight - please let me know any other ideas for troubleshooting:

• Reseat the WiFi card
• Reseat the adapter in the PCI slot (it's the bottom x1 slot of the motherboard)
• Connect the USB splitter directly to the USB header on the motherboard (already tried this)
• Check connections of the antennas to the adapter (only have 2 connection points and three antennas but that shouldn't matter)
• Connect to Ethernet to see if it works (never actually connected to WiFi or Ethernet during the setup process so I haven't gone through the final steps of the post install process to get FaceTime/etc. working and haven't signed into iCloud)

Thoughts?

Some suggestions:

• Have you installed SSDT-DESIGNARE-Z390-NO-CNVW.aml?
• Try deleting: /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist
  • You will have to add your network connections again in System Preferences --> Network

*** Build Guide Updated for 10.14.4 ***

Changes in macOS 10.14.4 require a little bit of special handling. The Installation and Post-Installation sections of the build guide have been updated with slightly different procedures and new screenshots. UniBeast 9.1.0 and MultiBeast 11.1.0 are used, both of which contain a compatible version of Clover so there's no need to manually update Clover when doing a fresh installation.

But if you're updating an earlier build of 10.14.x, you should backup your system then download and install the latest version of Clover onto the EFI partition of your Mojave SSD. And perform the update directly from within macOS.

Some of the sections under Going the Extra Mile will be updated over the next few days. If you have any questions or encounter any problems with the updated procedure, please post them here.

There's a very good chance the Corsair MP510 will work. So far the only incompatible NVMe SSD we've encountered is the Samsung EVO 970 Plus (not the Pro).

Other good alternatives to the pricey Samsung 970-series are:

• ADATA SX8200 and newer ADATA SX8200 Pro
• HP EX920

Thunderbolt Ports not working, please help. It says no drivers are loaded. UPDATE It shows something under PCI though. Still wont recognize Gtech Thunderbolt 2 Drives plugged in via Apples TB 3to2 Adapter.
