[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

That's odd... I wonder why it doesn't work for me. Do you also have a case with front USB 2.0 ports (x2)? That could be the culprit. My Fractal R6 Case has 2 of those at the front, plus the BT header and 115i usb connection... maybe I'm overloading the single USB header on the mobo lol.
If you’re using the Fractal Design USB SSDT, maybe ports HS11 and HS12 are not both active? I can check this later this morning.

That would be great. Thanks Casey.

I'm not that torn about disconnecting the 115i usb connection. We can't even use the software in OSX. Just glad I was able to get bluetooth working.

Still have black screen
I have gigabyte rx580 8go and monitor is attach on DP
profile 19.1 not workingso i went to mac mini black screen not accesse to shared screen
If this is happening on 10.14.4, the first thing is to check whether you have a recent version of Clover on the Mojave SSD. Can you boot up properly with the USB install disk? You can always update Clover on the USB stick first, then make sure all Kexts in the CLOVER/Kexts/Other folder are still present. Then boot the Hackintosh with USB (F12 at BIOS splash screen).

GREAT tutorial, just finished it. But I seem to be missing the "Fakesmc sensors" all of them.
Any idea how to get them installed? Thanks again, great work
Glad to hear it! You may download FakeSMC from here:

Great guide!
Is it imperative that the BIOS be updated to v4? Mine is v3, and I can’t figure out how I would update without installing OS first.

Many thanks!
Thanks Nico, not sure if I wasn't clear enough or if I just don't understand things !
In the guide it states that the "Bios Version" should be F4 or newer. Mine is F3, and I don't understand how I can update it without first installing the OS. Is it an issue or shall I just leave it as F3? Thanks again!
It’s not imperative to update the BIOS, but it is recommended to do so before macOS installation rather than after. Updating BIOS is very easy. Download the latest F6 from the link below and copy it to a USB flash disk that is formatted as FAT32. Do not use the USB install disk created by UniBeast because it formats the primary partition as Mac HFS+. Insert USB disk, boot computer, and press END key on keyboard at BIOS splash screen. If you don’t have END key, press Del to enter Setup and select the BIOS Update function.

BIOS update does not require an operating system to be installed. It’s handled entirely by the “firmware” built into the motherboard.

If you're currently using SSDT-DESIGNARE-Z390-FD-DEFINE-R6.aml, you may need to switch to the ...R6-HS12.aml that is attached below.

Thanks to your SSDT wizardry, I can now confirm that the front two USB 2.0 ports work, and the H115i platinum + Bluetooth USB Host Controller from the Fenvi card now show up in system report using the NZXT Internal USB Hub (with the Fractal Define R6 Case).

I have a couple questions and thoughts that I'm hoping you can answer if it's not too much trouble:

  1. I followed this part in the guide: "Specifying Device Names And Types". After putting the two entries in for the USB Host Controller + Broadcom card, I was experiencing a huge drop in wifi on my Fenvi card in the bottom X1 slot. Using speed test, I was getting 303 ping and 5mbps down. This wasn't happening before that change. I tested the internet speed with another laptop and it was working properly.

After rolling back that change, my wifi is working properly with proper speeds. Perhaps there is something weird going on? Since this part of the guide is purely cosmetic, I'm planning to skip it.

  2. The part in your guide: "Spoiler: Additional tip for users of Pro video/audio apps"... is it necessary to make these changes? I don't have a Vega card (RX580 here), but I do plan on using some pro audio apps. Do you happen to have links in the forum to some user experiences testing these changes out?

I was hoping to wait for 10.14.5 and switch to the new iMac stuff to gain 9th gen cpu support anyway, and my system seems to be functioning great right now all things considered.

  3. Do you happen to have a guide and/or experience with moderate to low overclocking on this system? I'd like to overclock, but really low. This is the first PC I've ever built so I'm a total noobie.

  4. Do you have a link to a guide to make a bootable backup with EFI folder intact? I've seen your posts mentioning how to do it throughout this entire thread, but having a guide would be super handy.

I'm just waiting on a TB 3 to 2 converter cable from apple to test some thunderbolt devices (one that's not on your list). I'll make another post when I can properly test it.

Thanks a lot for all your help!!
