First of all thank you so much kgp What you've published here is epic

Unfortunately I'm not able to start the install process because I'm getting a nasty error, and I tried everthing best to my knowledge to fix it, but no luck so far.

I followed your guide meticulously.
I'm already running a 10.12.14 config on another disk. But for now I'm trying a clean install on a new (old) SSD.
I'm using the following configuration: I7-5820k, Asus X99-A and Asus GTX 760

My problem is: When I choose the "Start install from USB" option, everthing runs smooth until it stops with
Code:
HID: Legacy shim 2
doing nothing for probably 20seconds and the followed by this text
Code:
Still waiting for root device
and the PROHIBITED sign afterwards.

I'm pretty lost and really need some help.
Thank you so much in advance to all of you fellas.

I am facing the same error with USB Install media when I plug in the USB 3.0 port, it works fine in USB 2.0 port though.

Edit: Solved, it was missing one `kernel kext` patch

Thanks man. Can you please tell me which "kernel kext" patch you're referring to?

This one

1.)Make sure the "X99_Injector USB 3.kext" in the /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Others/ directory.

2) The 10.13 AppleUSBXHCIPCI KextsToPatch entry in the "Kernel and Kext Patches" section of the clover configurator:

Code:
Name: Find: Replace: Comment: MatchOS:
AppleUSBXHCIPCI 837d8c10 837d8c19 USB port limit patch

3) The following USB settings in the "Device" section of the Clover Configurator: "Inject", "Add ClockID", "FixOwnership"
- checked; "HighCurrent" - unchecked.

4)
Also remember the correct BIOS settings:
  • XHCI Mode Smart Auto
  • XHCI Hand-Off Enabled
  • EHCI Hand-Off Enabled

Hello! I'm having several troubles to get my system working with i7 6900k. Yesterday I have my working 100% working with my i7 5820k, but after change it to 6900k, I can't boot. I followed all your guide, even tried to create and boot with an installer USB but no look. Here are my post! Maybe you can help me: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/i-changed-my-cpu-and-cant-boot.242140/

By the way, I tried to boot the USB installer following your guide, with all your EFI folder and files and right config for my MOBO (KernelPM activated because I don't have ASUS mobo; I have MSI X99 SLI KRAIT EDITION), and I can't boot neither in my installed systema nor the installer, always stuck in +++++++++++. Because of that I opened a thread, to ask help! :)

If I create an USB installer following 100% your guide, when I try to boot, clover says:
Result = 0
doest printf work?

I tried to boot with nv_disable=1 too because I have to boot with gtx 1080 connected but no luck.

I have the same it is a MSI problem so now and then it does not boot.
Try to change your bootflag npci=0x2000 into npci=0x3000 (just in your bootscreen - options)
It won't boot or maybe it does...., but if you restart use npci=0x2000 and it will boot.
There is a efi change from Nick Woodhams https://nickwoodhams.com/x99-hackintosh-osxaptiofixdrv-allocaterelocblock-error-update/ but i don't have better results my 2nd machine MSI X99A Raider

Thanks adamshahcatalyst

I still don't get to the installing screen.
It prompts the following:
Code:
NVDAStartup: Official
NVDAGK100HAL loaded and registered
and then stops with this message:
Code:
Unsupported CPU for reporter

any ideas? highly appreciated guys.

EDIT: I left the Computer and when I came back there was an additional prompt:
Code:
kextd stall[0], (240s): 'AppleACPICPU'
Maybe anyone have seen this before?
