So, interesting thing happened to me.

I installed OS X, and I went to get iMessage working. I made all my changes to the serial number and everything before I connected to the internet. Got a serial number which said it "wasn't found," but it didn't say it was invalid on the apple store coverage checker. So far so good.

Got that "call apple" message. Well crap.

So I called them up. BSed it a little more than I PROBABLY should have. I gave him my serial number...

And apparently the serial number generated wasn't valid? The clover configurator tool generated a serial number with an O in it. This didn't seem like a problem to me - but when I was reading the number off to the guy, he said "Our serial numbers don't have O's in them."

So I said it had to have been a 0. Which then came back saying it was invalid. So at that point I had to end the call - and now I'm stuck here afraid that the guy thinks I stole a mac hahahaha.

In any case - has this happened to anyone else?

You have to distinguish between the character '0' (zero) and the letter 'O' which according to your post is confusing on what characters you relayed to the Apple tech when you quoted your s/n. I would advise to run iMessage DeBugger and have a look at the given values of the readout or post them in the forum and someone will tell you if there is anything suspect in the given values. Good luck.

Ok i called Apple, i can log in now into iMessage, problem now is that all my contacts are not registered as iMessage users. Also when i use FaceTime to make a phonecall, i see on the right top corner that its calling through my iPhone, although nothing happens. I do get the message on my phone that hack is using my account to make calls etc. I've gone through every setting on hack and phone to see if those were correct, im out of ideas now.......4

This is what it gives me. I unfortunately cannot make heads or tails of this, because I'm a newcomer to OS X

Also, for the record, I did clarify that it was an "O" and not a "0". He said there were no "Os" in the serial number so it had to be a 0. That sounded weird to me but it's what he said.

Update, FaceTime is working now, still all my contacts appears to have no iMessage. Phone calls are not working either from my mac.

Ive taken the liberty of looking up your s/n on the 'EveryMac' web site and did not receive a positive ID match of Mac Model of your Hack, therefore my advice would be to log you hack out of all Apple Services you're currently logged into including iCloud. The next step is to generate a new s/n avoiding any containing the letter 'O', of course you will then have to go through the process again of generating new ROM and MLB values. After you've done the check on Apple site to insure your s/n is not already listed but ok, do a check on the 'EveryMac.com' website by entering your new s/n which will give you definite details of the Mac model of the s/n.

Having a positive Mac ID match and s/n is key for all Apple services to function on a Hack and I think your s/n number is suspect hence the negative response from Apple Tech when you made the call. Make the changes I suggested and you should be good to go. Good luck.

Just disable your onboard ethernet in the BIOS and yes you may use a PCIe network card and set it to en0 and BuiltIn.

Worked fine, thanks! :)
Additionally, I had to supply the ROM value manually because Clover wasn't able to get my en0 MAC address (just returned 0xFF's).

I tried many methods and s/n but always I have message "You cannot sing to iMessage on this Mac at this time -- To use iMessage with this Mac, contact Apple Support and provide the code below..."
I use iMessage on iPhone without problems!
I live in Bosnia and can't call Apple support, does any can make it for me, please pm me if someone can help.

Thanks

Did you even read the guide this thread is based on?

My iMessage has stopped working. I had to re-install the OS and I have done this many times before using the same config.plist file in the past and I have always been able to sign in. The only difference today is that I installed 10.11.4 update. Nothing else has changed in my system. Anyone else having trouble signing in? It's not giving an errors when I try to sign in.
