Hi there,

Hopefully someone can help me figure out what I'm doing wrong here.

I'm new to the hackintosh community, I've downloaded fileNVRAM and placed it in the modules folder.

However, when I run the iMessageDebug v2 tool, my ROM and BoardSerialNumber values are "failed".

I have not attempted to inject data for either of these values, so I'm not sure if this would be a normal result when I first run the tool, or if it shows an error somewhere else.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I got to the point where I received the Call Apple Support" message. I still have to check that that support number remains constant on reboot, but I got a message on my iphone today (after doing all of this work yesterday) that that new system was using my Apple I.D.with imessage (something like that). Does that message indicate anything about potential issues or success with imessage?

@RandomNumber,

The fact that you got that message on your iPhone is a good sign that things are starting to work, and that you hack is communicating correctly with Apples servers ... you will always receive these sorts of messages when a new Apple device is associated with your AppleID.

As long as the Customer Code remains consistent then iMessage should work once MLB & ROM have been added to Apples Database.

You may want to try the Alternate Rom method detailed at the Chapter 7.1 .... ever since Apple relaxed the enhanced MLB verification mid February many users have found that using the Alt Rom method bypasses the need to call Apple - it doesn't work for everyone - it seems to depend on the history of your AppleID but might be worth a go if your apprehensive about contacting Apple.

Also, Clover creates other issues unrelated to iMessage for me that I never had on Chimera and Mavericks such as sleep causing unresponsive computer with looping attempt to boot with no post requiring removal of CMOS battery to fix & no audio etc.

You would be much better posting that question on the Yosemite/Desktop/Clover sections of the site, hopefully someone with the same hardware will be able to help you. I see know reason why you should not be able to resolve those issues though ...

Good Luck
Cheers

@Shilofax,

It's almost impossible for us to help you until we know more about your set up, please add hardware information and configuration to your signature .. include version of OS X your trying to run, Boot-loader type & version, FileNVRAM version ... etc

If your using Yosemite & Chimera then ensure you install the FileNVRAM helper kext as well as the boot module, it wont work with out it. Please read the guide - specifically all of Chapter 6.1

@siddsimac,

You should not use the 'This Mac' button in Mac Tracker as it will look at your existing SMBIOS definition and only show you the matching models ..... you need to manually go through the MacBook Pro models and manually match your hardware.

Are you using Intel or ATI GPU ?

If Intel GPU then match hardware primarily on your laptop's CPU & Chipset, video is not so important and can be injected by Clover.

Cheers

@jay first i was using 9,2 but then i had some Native PM issue, so RehabMan suggested to go with similar definition which has discrete graphics(i have ATI Radeon HD 7650M) n closest was 10,1 so i opted to 10,1 :(

@siddsimac,

iMessage should work no matter what SMBIOS you use as long as it's reasonable close to your hardware (for example if Laptop then make sure that SMBIOS model type is a 'moble' one), you should always ensure that the S/N makeup matches the appropriate SMBIOS model type as detailed in Chapter 4.1 .... obviously if you change the S/N then you should also change the MLB.

If you change the SMBIOS type then i always recommend you generate a new full set of ID's and reset the iMessage/iCloud configuration files after making the changes to your clover config.plist .... do all of this off-line until everything looks correct using iMessage Debug. Failure to do this will lead to SMBIOS - S/N/MLB/ROM miss matches on Apples database leading to authentication issues and 'ghost' devices associated with your AppleID.

Many users are having good success activating iMessage using the Alt ROM method detailed in Chapter 7.1 which in most cases should avoid having to call Apple.

All,

As usual, followed this guide and everything went perfect.

I am gifting my old system to a family member and built a new system for myself. The new system is a fresh install with a created 11 digit serial number, ROM (new wifi MAC address) and a created 13 digit MLB. iMessage, FaceTime working fine:)

Solved the red Exclamation mark when you can login, but cannot send and receive messages.:

Reset all the iMessage files as described in the guide. http://www.tonymacx86.com/general-help/110471-how-fix-imessage.html#TOP3.3
Log out from iCloud on all devices (Mac's and iOS) AND delete all keys in KeyChain, even from Apple Servers: (end of this instruction https://support.apple.com/en-is/HT204085)

After that started all over, first on a iOS device, later on a Hackintosh, and it iMessage works!

Hope this helps others in same situation.

Thanks to Jaymonkey for this great Guide!!

Hi, I finally got iMessage to log in, but now when trying to message someone, the contact name appears red and says the person isn't registered with imessage (they obviously are). I "resetted" imessage according to this guide and log out-in into my iphone/hack several times. In preference, everything except my email says "Validating". Any person had this problem? thanks

EDIT: the emails and number appear to be validated and can be selected deselected now.

Hey! So about ~4 months ago I was spending a ton of time fixing iMessage (usual hackintosh troubleshooting insanity) and after tons of work I had no luck. I think what happened was I couldn't get my numbers to match in the end, I triggered the block, called to unblock it without 100% resolving the number discrepancy, was reblocked, and managed to fix the issue through a means I don't entirely remember but didn't want to call back so soon to unblock myself. So it's been roughly 4 or 5 months, I just came to this thread to see if there were any new developments on the issue then tried to login for the heck of it and it WORKED! So I supposed there was an expiration on the block? In any case it worked for no damn reason and I'm happy because I have iMessage working on all my devices including this one which is my main desktop/workstation/gaming machine. I thought I'd share this to provide some hope and maybe some clues to how the system works. Good luck everyone!
