[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Odd. The new iMacs (19,2 and 19,3) might contain a special build of 10.14.4? Or perhaps 10.14.4 only supports mobile 9th generation CPUs?
The new 2019 iMacs (19,x) are shipping with:
  • 10.14.4 build 18E2034
The general 10.14.4 release from two days ago is:
  • 10.14.4 build 18E226
Maybe we have to wait for a 10.14.4 update in order to get 9th Gen CPUs to be identified properly in About this Mac.

So then we need to wait till 10.14.5 unfortunately, most likely...Are there mobile versions of the i9?
Apple can also issue a Supplemental Update to 10.14.4 itself.

@CaseySJ
I was able to install it with this + following your guide:

However, i9-9900k still not getting detected. Think we need updated SMBIOS in Clover Configurator. Looking at Geekbench results, the Board ID is Mac-AA95B1DDAB278B95.

Also, thank you for this guide!

Awesome -- you're the first to update to 10.14.4 Build 18E2034 on this motherboard! Have you tried changing SMBIOS name and Board ID?

Is the iMac19,2/3 SMBios included or recognized with the new update? (10.14.4) or do we have to wait for the next updates in order to use it?
Changing SMBIOS name by itself has not made an observable difference, so we suspect that numerous other SMBIOS fields need to be updated as well. Fields such as Board ID, Firmware Features, Platform Feature, Platform Feature Mask, etc.
