Solving NVIDIA Driver Install & Loading Problems

Hi, So I followed the instructions and got it to work properly yesterday. Everything ran fine with nvda_drv=1
Problem is that today, it seems like it won't answer to both nvda_drv=1 and nv_disable=1.
Fortunately, I had the screen sharing on so I can access it from my other laptop and everything shows normal behaviour, yet, the screen won't turn on for a reason that I don't understand.

To give an idea of my setup, I have a EVGA 740 SC GDDR5 with a VGA to DVI adapter. Probably can find a DVI somewhere.
The only "difference" that I see so far is that the NVDIA driver is 346.03.10f02 instead of 01.
I checked the display settings and it doesn't see the display anymore. It shows "Unknown Display" and Detect Display doesn't do anything.
Might it be the cause why? Is this a related issue?

VGA has hardly any support in OS X and has even less support with the Nvidia Web Drivers involved. Have a complete digital connection and your issues will likely be solved.

Motherboard: GA-Z97M-D3H
CPU: i7-4790K
Mem: Crucial Ballistix 32GB DDR3 - 1600
SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 500GB
GPU: ASUS Strix GTX 970

Hi guys-

Thank you in advance for all your help and guidance, this is my first build, and I appreciate your insights and help.

I have a GTX 970 and I have just a black screen when I switch the monitor cord to the video card. No pins are broken on the cord.

My System definition is set to MacPro 6,1. Is that the right thing to do?

I installed Multibeast, and I got an error message in Verbose mode which was the following:

"Using reloc block: no, hibernate wake: no"

I've also attached screenshots of the kexts that I installed.

Fixes I did:
1.) I downloaded the new Nvidia driver.
2.) in my CLOVER boot screen: dart=0 nvda_drv=1
3.) I followed step #4 on this thread.

What should I do?

Thank you~

What happens if you use iMac14,2? There is no reason to use MacPro6,1 unless you are using an X99 board.

Thank you for your quick reply, Slim.Jim!

I FIXED IT!

I wiped the SSD, and restarted the process for install of 10.11.

I followed this tutorial for my settings but I didn't ven have to enter nvda_drv=1 flags in the boot>arguments.

I kept my video card and extra 3 cards of RAM unplugged entirely until I downloaded the drivers as per this link. Then I changed the BIOS settings.

I went into MultiBeast, used all the same settings as above, and changed the system definition to 14,2.

I still got the black screen.

I'm booting with nvda_drv=1

I did not change any serial numbers, or any other DSDT or any other settings.

Do you know what else I can do?

Thank you so much for your help! You rock!

Are you running 10.11.5? I can't get past the black screen with 17,1.

Yes, I am running 10.11.5.

I think we might be having the same issue. I created a thread about this here. I'm really stuck! I wonder if 10.11.5 introduced a new wrinkle in this process. Unfortunately there's no way to download that revision from Apple for testing.
