Issue seems to be shiki failed to apply nvpatch (shikigva=12), may due to AppleGVA.framework buffer size mismatch, restore native AppleGVA.framework should work.

Restore AppleGVA.framework from usb installer, run below from terminal then reboot

cd /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/
sudo codesign --deep -fs - AppleGVA.framework
sudo chown -R root:wheel AppleGVA.framework.

Thank you. This helped me get VDADecoderChecker to pass.

hi guys. is QuickSync working when exporting in h264 or h265 trough DaVinci resolve 14.1?
I'm asking because with intel power gadget my gt is always at 0ghz (while it's perfectly working if I try to record my screen with quicktime for example)

I think my h264 export of a small test movie in the free DaVinci Resolve 14 was slow and heavy on the CPU. My quicksync works OK in FCPX. Might be a limitation of the free version of Resolve.

i have been successful on enabling quick sync in DaVinci resolve thanks to @vit9696
the issue is that my igpu reaches too high frequencies, look at the screenshot. what's the matter?

What was the solution? Did you have to set a different clock multiplier in BIOS?

solution for DaVinci resolve was this:
recompile shiki kext using the new patches.plist (it was updated yesterday)

regarding clock multiplier, yes I have overclocked my 8700k to 5ghz (so 50x multiplier)

damn, another tricky issue.
using compressor standalone, quick sync is not working with Nvidia (it is with Vega for example)

neither if I use Final Cut and then send to compressor option.

meanwhile finalcut is working perfectly with quick sync

edit:
QuickSync with Nvidia and compressor is working only if you use hevc (h265). if you use h264 quikvcsync is not working.
not a big issue, imho

This may be the wrong thread but I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Ive got lilo and whatevergreen and since installing ive had serious issues with final cut. Im getting green artifacts that cover the entire piece of footage every time i try to render with FCP or compressor. Even background render ruins it while im editing. It could be an acceleration issue but im not sure. Internal GFX is enabled and inject intel is there. Ive been trying to find what intel IG but they seem to boot to black screen. I found on a different thread to inject 0x59120003 and to use -disablegfxfirmware as well as add a device property 0AAAAA00 but all of these things boot to black screen. Any suggestions?

Just a head's up I've lost Quicksync Encode and Decode as of 10.12.6 (16G1212) (security update 2018-001).
I'm on all the most up to date kexts, and nothing else has changed in my setup.

Edit: rebuilding the DYLD cache twice fixed it.

Hi Guys, I've got HW h265 (HEVC) decode, but h264 is not hardware accelerated. How is that possible?
