Does it survive sleep?
Nope, but thats not related to TB, my system doesn't shutdown properly since BIOS upgrade, so thats the root cause.

I didn't ask if your system survived sleep I asked if your TB3 device survived sleep but it appears like your problems are worse then properly working TB3.

I have a Z370 Aorus Gaming 5 pretty similar board I have no shutdown or sleep problems maybe it is your config or you should down grade the bios. What I am getting at is that it does not really work Out of Box, it is better to have an SSDT that fixes problems like TB3 devices that do not survive sleep or can be hot plugged. I can never understand why people are ok with running things in a crippled mode when there is a solution.

Well i tried downgrading my BIOS as well, but that didn't solve my shutdown/sleep issue. I still lack the knowledge to create SSDT for my motherboard. AFAIK hotplug doesn't work with titan ridge TB pcie cards unless you flash the card with modified firmware. I just didnt find the effort and risk worthy just for hotplug, so i am working without it. Looks like you are smart enough to do that, give it a try. For me things work stable with now with no hotplug and shutdown/sleep issue.

Maybe I am looking at the wrong board but your board does not look like it has a TB3 header. If it does not have a header it is possible that it will not work. I have put a TB3 card in a system that does not have a header but it behaves strangely. The card is also flashed.
