Upon installing the Alpine Ridge Rev2 in my motherboard and opening windows, I plugged my Apollo Twin and it was recognized.
I was making sure to turn on the Apollo before booting into MacOS however it was not being recognized.

I have the build in my profile which I built in July 2017, and have recently purchased an Alpine Ridge TB3 card running on a Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 to upgrade Thunderbolt 3 connectivity for various TB2 / USB 3.0 hubs and daisy-chained UAD audio interfaces (Apollo x8P TB3 / Apollo Twin Quad TB2...
Hello Hackintoshers,
After about a week of building and troubleshooting, I managed to get my first Dual-boot Hackintosh set up with Mojave & Windows 10.
Now I am trying to set up the Alpine Ridge Thunderbolt 3 add-in card for Thunderbolt support. My goal is to have an Audio Production...
I’m hoping to get some help from the many experts on this forum to see if I can get this Thunderbolt 3 card to work.
My build is based on this Golden build by @JCMunson with a lot of follow up help from @P1LGRIM @pastrychef @RehabMan and @Stork who was instrumental in helping me with the RX580...
I finally got my new Hackintosh up and running smoothly for the most part. I use it for audio production. I needed to upgrade to a Thunderbolt setup to reduce latency etc. I know there's a lot of similar builds so I am hoping someone is able to help.
I am running a Gigabyte Z370 Gaming 7 with...
I have a pretty stable x99 build, but recently my Thunderboltex3 started ****ing up (more than usual). This started when I installed a new NVMe drive into a PCIe slot. After a bunch of trouble shooting, I bought an Alpine Ridge card which seems to work, but came with a new set issues...
The Thunderbolt hotplug is a problem that has existed for many years, and until now the only way to have working TB devices is to connect them and turn them on before boot.
Finally after a long time some progress has been made.
This is not a guide! But a starting point for further...
Ok, here we are!
After a long search I found something interesting and... a possible way to have Thunderbolt hotswap working!
I start this thread with the hope that finally we can create a definitive guide (or almost) to enable the thunderbolt hot swap.
If it works, it would be a turning point...

I've successfully built my first hackintosh running Sierra 10.12.5. I've added an GC-Alpine Ridge Thunderbolt 3 add-on card in pic slot 4 and can't get OS X to recognize it. Through windows 10 I've updated the FW on that card and have the latest bios (F4) for the MB.
So after continuos searching and waiting and searching and waiting... I finally got the GC-ALPINE RIDGE in my hands.
I'm still waiting for my TB3 to TB2 dongles, but will keep this thread updated once I get them and test with my macOS setup.
Also, I assume everyone wants to know...
I am looking for a future proof portable motherboard with Thunderbolt 3 (to use in Windows, and hopefully OSX once Apple supports it), but really in need of getting the rig as soon as possible. I've taken a look at the Gigabyte-Z170X-UD5 TH, but it is ATX, and I would really prefer...
Tech Powerup revealed that Intel's next-gen Thunderbolt technology named "Alpine Ridge" will pack a punch when it comes to versatility, if the specs remain unchanged. It will launch sometime in 2015 along with Intel's Core "Skylake" CPUs.
Thunderbolt 2 currently supports up to 20 Gbps of...
