Try tick the FixOwnership under config.plist/Devices/USB

Did you put USB injectall kext and the SSDT-USB in the correct places on your USB installer's efi partition ?

Ahh, whoops! I missed that step. Thank you. I will try when I get back home. ;)

@nicksoph
That would be good, Im told that the BIOS install with the .exe method in DOS will stop the rollback if it wont work but not certain about using Dells inbuilt flash system in BIOS.
Hi
I had a few minutes today to test the BIOS upgrade and downgrade with a spare Optiplex 9020 SFF i7, here at work.

Access the BIOS up/downgrade screen with F12 at boot (enable Legacy ROMs first)
Select BIOS file saved on any USB (does not need to be bootable).

So, yes, I was able to jump up and down firmware without issue.

Any chance the attached files will work (as is) for an El Capitan install on a SFF 9020? I Don't care for the newer OS versions and have loads of software that run better on the older stuff- at least it seems that way. Just curious before I blow the time on it.

Just an update on this in case anyone wants/needs an older OS build. It works perfectly! Only a few minor changes, not worth even mentioning. All works as said in the guide. All I lack is a backup of my install before I load all my applications for use. It’s crazy how fast the 9020 is with OSX! Not bad for a first time build.

Thanks for a fantastic guide!

Thanks for doing the testing.

I have tried out two Benchmarks on BIOS A13 and A18 (on SFF 7020, i5-4440, 16GB RAM, and only Intel 4600 GPU).
The benchmark scores are almost identical between the two BIOS's.

Pics attached - left side is the A13 Bios with A18 on the right.

Thanks so much! I got the system up. Just having a small issue with graphics. I installed all kexts and ran MulitBeast like your instructions but not seeing the highest resolution for my 4K monitor. Tried putting in an K600 to just use that.. and still not getting max.. Any ideas?

The HD4600 graphics will not give you 4K. The K600 should be able to if you use a 4K capable DP cable with it. Sometimes you'll need to also use SwitchResX or ResXtreme to see the 4K option if macOS doesn't give you that.

Thanks for your help. I am booting into the K600 now with a 4K capable DP cable. I tried using both SwitchResX and ResXtreme for 4K option still no luck. On another computer about 2 months ago, I used your other guide for Dell Optiplex 9010 never had an issue with the K600 there. Not sure what I am doing wrong.
