Hey guys, I have tried just about every BIOS and darkwake setting in an effort to fix my sleep issues to no avail, so I figured I'd turn to the forum for help.
Here's the story. Before the UEFI BIOS, sleep worked fine. I'd press sleep, and everything would turn off. If I pressed a key, it would come back on where I left it. I'm pretty sure auto sleep didn't work then and it doesn't now.
Anyway, after I updated to UEFI, I began to have problems with sleep. I would press sleep, the monitor would turn off, but the computer would stay awake and I could not wake it up. In fact, the same symptom occurred when pressing Shut Down (though restart worked as it was supposed to).
After testing just about every setting in the BIOS, I finally figured out that disabling EHCI Hand Off changed sleep behavior. It now shut down normally, and pressing sleep would shut off all the components like it did before UEFI (i.e. it entered the S3 sleep state), but the monitor still does not wake up from sleep. The computer turns on, but the screen stays black. Re-plugging the DVI cable doesn't help.
I have tried using both the IGPU and my 5770. I have also tried Darkwake=0, Yes, and No and CPU EIST Enabled and Auto. Changing any of these settings did not affect my sleep in any way.
If anyone has any ideas, I'd really appreciate them. I am the kind of person who uses sleep a lot and I don't have any hardware components that would break it.
Thanks so much,
Seamus
