[GUIDE] Booting the OS X installer on LAPTOPS with Clover UEFI

Overview

Installing Clover UEFI to USB

Download the Clover installer. Current builds are availabe on sourceforge: http://sourceforge.net/projects/cloverefiboot/

Personally, I build my own Clover using CloverGrowerPro: https://github.com/JrCs/CloverGrowerPro

After obtaining the Clover installer, first task is to install to the USB "CLOVER EFI" partition:
Run the Clover Installer package:
- select the target of the install to "CLOVER EFI" using "Change Install Location"
- select "Customize" (the default is a legacy install -- we need to change it)
- check "Install for UEFI booting only", "Install Clover in the ESP" will automatically select
- check "Bluemac" from Themes (the config.plist files I provide use this theme)
- check "OsxAptioFixDrv-64" from Drivers64UEFI

Notes on HDD install:
- if you were installing to your HDD, you might want "EmuVariableUefi-64.efi", but it would depend on whether native NVRAM works for you
- if you were installing to your HDD, you would want "Install RC scripts on target volume" and/or "Install all RC scripts on all other boot volumes", but not for USB
- if you were installing to your HDD, you could select "Install Clover Preference Pane"
- there are aslo some "Optional RC Scripts" you might want to read about

I just find this on post#1, but i had already installed yosemite and tried to install your personally clover to my EFI partition. I followed all clovergrowerpro instructions(using terminal), and it was installed on my yosemite partition, not the EFI. So, if i have to install the clover from source forge.net, what is the proposal to have the clovergrowedpro folder on my disk1 partition? The clover loads what is in the EFI partition, or am i wrong? Tks

CloverGrowerPro is a way to build Clover from source. It has nothing to do with Clover installation. To install to EFI partition, you must choose Custom in the Clover installer and select "Install for UEFI..." as described in the guide.

[GUIDE] Booting the OS X installer on LAPTOPS with Clover UEFI

I've installed Yosemite with clover on my M4400 (T9400+Quadro FX 770M) and while it's working 90% correctly, I can't seem to get that last 10% and I'm convinced it's due to some misconfiguration with clover.

Most notably, audio with VoodooHDA breaks up really badly. On this particular machine with Chameleon, this usually meant the system was running at the wrong bus multiplier but this doesn't seem to be the case with Clover. The system seems to run a little hotter than it does under Mavericks+Chameleon and every once in a while there will be random artifacts on UI elements and for lack of a better way to describe it, the system just doesn't *feel* like it's running correctly if that makes sense.

I've scoured the internet for guides to Clover and all that seems to turn up is the official documentation and a few forum threads, none of which do much to teach the user how to determine the proper settings for their machine. What should I do?

Please open a separate thread.

Quoting post #1, this thread:
Do not treat this thread as your private troubleshooting thread. If you have a specific problem with your specific laptop, open a separate thread.

Please fill out your profile per post #1.

You cannot boot from your HDD unless you install Clover to it. If you already have Windows booting UEFI, you may need to rename /EFI/Microsoft/Boot/bootmgfw.efi to bootmgfw-orig.efi.

It still can't boot into the installation with using Clover after renamed…
Actually it's still boot into windows automatically

System: Acer Aspire E 14 E5-471G-68K6 + clover
CPU: Intel i5-4210U + Haswell-ULT
Graphics: HD4400+840M + 1366x768x32

Note: With some BIOS you have to add the Clover entry...

Post your EFI folder.

You mean this folder?

No. I wrote 'EFI folder', not 'EFI/Microsoft/Boot' folder.

sorry I thought wrong thing...
Is it?

/EFI/BOOT/BOOTX64.efi is incorrect. It should be the same content as /EFI/CLOVER/CLOVERX64.efi.

You are missing HFSPlus.efi.

HwMonitor is not a kext.

Weird that the EFI/Microsoft folder is gone, yet you showed it in earlier screen shots...
