ASUS X299 Monterey/Ventura Support

One quick thing to try is:
  • Config.plist --> Misc --> Security --> SecureBootModel --> Default
If that doesn't help, then:
  • Config.plist --> Misc --> Security --> SecureBootModel --> Disabled
Thanks, I'll try that in the morning. Something I've noticed since posting is that the bios version is 1301. The latest is 1403. Could that be causing this? If I update, could it stop my Big Sur install loading properly?

So I'm trying to update my Hackintosh now that I have a current AMD card. I've got the Monterey installer USB booting and I get to the boot menu/ When I select "install MacOS Monterey", I get the apple logo and then it reboots and I'm back at the boot menu. I'm not getting any error messages after selecting the installer and I'm not seeing any additional options at the boot menu. This is my first time working with OpenCore, so I'm not sure what the issue is and I don't know the right question to ask.

Thanks

Have you added agdpmod=pikera into your boot-arg? This is required for a number of Navi based cards. You may also need to spoof your RX6950XT in the device properties as 6900XT in order for it to work. Check the 6900XT spoofing post here by @etorix > https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/radeon-rx-6950-xt.320302/

I have the agdpmod = pikera added to the boot flags.
I was trying to use
SSDT-6950XT-73A5-GPU-SPOOF.aml

I've fixed my initial set of errors and the installer is at least booting up. New set of problems, but at least it progress. I'll have to screw around with it later though.

Hey all, back again.

@CaseySJ I've search through the forum, maybe I'm missing it, but is there any progress around getting a flashed Titan-Ridge add-in Gigabyte PCIE card to see Thunderbolt 4 devices? I got my hands on a QGeem Thunderbolt 4 dock to mess with for a few days and it shows up fine on my Thunderbolt 3 MacBook Pro, but not the Hackintosh.

I know there was a compatibility issue with TB4 using this card, I'm wondering if there's been any resolution or even a potential add-in card to swap the Gigabyte Titan-Ridge for.

Thanks in advance for any insight!

Hello @djbuddha,

Although I have not tested this myself (don't have any TB4 devices), others have reported encouraging results with NVM 67. This can be flashed to GC-Titan Ridge.

The file is located in the Thunderbolt Firmware Repository.

Amazing!

It works ok with the PCIE add in Titan Ridge cards though? The repository shows separate files for the add in cards while the one quoted is for motherboards

Yes it’s okay to flash that to GC-Titan Ridge. Always keep a backup of the original firmware, however.

I decided to order another Titan ridge adapter to try this with.

If I were to do it with the current one, would I have to adjust anything else on the machine itself, or because it’s functioning now, should it just work?

Edit: saw in another post this card working …….? Should I opt for it or maybe not. I’m running the Sage X299/10G so it may or may not even be compatible.

Ideally, if I’m going to try to get Thunderbolt 4 devices to recognize, I’d be willing to grab a Thunderbolt 4 PCIE adapter if it can work with my board. I’ve done some research but also working so I’m wondering if there’s a somewhat elegant solution as of yet to get true Thunderbolt 4 working.

ASUS ThunderboltEX 4 with Intel® Thunderbolt™ 4 JHL 8540 Controller, 2 USB Type-C Ports, up to 40Gb/s bi-Directional Bandwidth, DisplayPort 1.4 Support, up to 100W Quick Charge. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B08ZS3D6JY/?tag=tonymacx86c0c-20

Hey @CaseySJ - sorry to bother, just curious if I can use the same AML file after I flash my current card or if I have to generate a new one after?

I’m assume if I flash the Titan Ridge v2 card I ordered I definitely can’t use my current AML, I’m understanding this correctly right?
