Amazon warehouse has one. If you buy new, they cost a lot of $$

Amazon Warehouse deals have full warranty and return rights. They are usually never even used.
The box may get damaged in shipping and the buyer returns it for a replacement.

Your config.plist and presumably the EFI folder are significantly different from what we prescribe in this build thread. This does not mean your configuration is wrong; it just means that you are ultimately responsible for ensuring that you have an optimal configuration for your needs.

After the install of 11.5 everything was normal but now i’m experiencing spontaneous freezing after casual use i.e internet browsing. Would this be attributed to a possible kext or something in the config.plist? I’m thinking it could be when I had changed the XHCI port limit to false. It was even freezing whilst a clean install of 11.5.
I run into the same issue with 11.5. Random freezing regardless of load. Sometimes a few minutes after login, sometimes 1-2 hours. Clean re-install of 11.5 also froze. I used a 11.2.3 installer and succeeded, left overnight and didn't freeze. Upgraded to 11.5 next morning and the symptom returned. I use the OC0.7.1 with the EFI provided in this guide.

I also noticed on 11.5 my dmesg is full of errors like below. No such messages in 11.2 with the same EFI (dual-boot), but I'm not sure if it's a coincidence.

Code:

I’m having the same issue and i’m not dual booting. I went from 11.2 to 11.5 and back to 11.2 about 3-4 times this week. Perhaps someone can possibly chime in on whats causing the spontaneous freezing?

Are you multi-booting from a single SSD?

Hello.

What system-definition are you using?

:)

This might happen if you exceed 15 USB ports and enable Kernel Quirk XhciPortLimit. The standard EFI for Z390 Designare in this thread defines only 15 USB ports and disables XhciPortLimit.

So the first two things to check would be:
  • Count the number of USB ports defined in your USB SSDT or USBPorts kext
  • Check if XhciPortLimit is enabled or disabled
If your USB map defines 15 or fewer USB ports, disable XhciPortLimit.
If your USB map exceeds 15 ports, let us know.

Another known cause of random freezing is the use of a flashed Thunderbolt add-in-card. If you're using a GC-Titan Ridge or other Thunderbolt add-in-card with a flashed firmware, try removing that card temporarily.

If these suggestions do not help, please list all devices connected to your internal USB 2.0 header and tell us which version of BIOS is installed.

For what it's worth I checked through the config.plist @WillamBrantree posted earlier and note, as required, SMBIOS details had been deleted, but completely, so no sys-def.

In the Kernel section I see two USBInjectAll.kext's with macOS version stipulations - 0.7.1 and 0.7.6.

The XhciPortLimit quirk is currently disabled.

An SSDT for USB config is in place. Sadly I can't peek the actual file to check it, hence my question about system-definition. Depending on the answer would help pin-point any USB problem.

I'm very certain my XhciPortLimit is disabled (and to clarify I do use the 'standard EFI' of this thread). I also read about https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Post-Install/usb/ but thought your SSDT files have taken care of this, so I did not create my own USB map.

I have also tried to unplug all USB devices (except the Fenvi BT card) after login (and kept only keyboard/mouse before login). Problem still exists. Don't have Thunderbolt add-on card either.

I do have BIOS F9j though (was too late to see your warning). If you could point me to instructions to downgrade, I'll be happy to try it. Thanks for your help.

Its an iMac 19,1 . Should I remove one of the USB kexts? The SSDT is the one provided in this thread.
