[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

@CaseySJ

I'm acquiring the parts to make a Gigabyte B550 Vision D hackintosh. Do you have any quick hints/tips as to what's needed to get to the stage you have reached?

My Z390 Gigabyte Designare flashed, dual boot system booting O.C.-0.6.0 is running fine.

Thanks
Good to hear, I bought a Gigabyte B550M DS3H and a Ryzen 5 3600X for my G5 Sapphire. Looking forward to seeing your results.
I'm going to follow @CaseySJ´s Gigabyte B550 Vision D build guide with a microscope:)
The B550 Vision D Build Chronicles thread has begun (AMD Ryzentosh):

It's done before I even asked! :)
with this new HackinDROM all we need is to upload the wanted file to our account then activate it for everyone.
Ill give you moderator rights then you can do that by yourself when needed, also enable/disable available SSDTs for front-end

Experiments with Samsung 970 Evo Plus on my Hackintosh

My main system is running on a Samsung 970 Evo Plus with Samsung's latest firmware and Nvme.kext.
The degree of the drive is never under about 50°C even when im doing nothing with the PC.
In Windows its 10°C less.

After multiple test I found that my main Samsung 970 Evo Plus causes micro system lags:
Display image is stopped during 0.2 second every about 7 seconds.
This lags is visible on cold boot, warm boot and restart, but not when it wake up from sleep!.
NVME tried on M2M and M2P.

Then I decided to purchase another Samsung 970 Evo Plus, + Crucial P1 NVMe and Samsung 860 Evo SSD.

the SSD 860 Evo runs macOS perfectly, no lags, normal drive temperatures.
the NVMe Crucial P1 NO PROBLEM
and finally the new Samsung 970 Evo Plus causes exactly same problems than my main Samsung 970 Evo Plus...

Does anybody have or noticed the same problem?
Should we put Samsung 970 Evo Plus on an avoid list for Designare?

More than a year using a 1TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus perfectly fine, did you check the firmware version of your units?

Hi Inqnuam,

What size Crucial P1 NVMe are you using? I am wanting to purchase a 2TB drive for my HomeDrive location.

Hey all, need some help: I had to replace my motherboard, so what needs to be changed in config.plist in OpenCore? I notice via Hackintool that my System UUID does not match the Hardware UUID, but I forget if they ever matched. Everything else appears to match what I had before the hardware change, but idk what Hackintool takes from the actual hardware and what originates from the config (directly or from booting with those parameters). Everything appears to be working fine except signing into the app store (it just doesn't take), but that could just be a Big Sur bug...

Having a couple issues with my build that I put together based on this guide in January of 2020.

First issue:

The GPU I have is a Pulse Radeon RX-580 Overclocked Dual-Fan 8GB GDDR5. Every few days or so the card runs the fans at 100% even when idling, which is very loud and annoying. Rebooting doesn't fix the issue and neither does resetting CMOS. The fans will go back so silent spontaneously after a few days of running at 100%. Has anybody else had this problem with the designare board and/or this GPU?

Second issue:

I can send airdrop files to other devices but not receive.

Thanks!
