GFX0 --> connected to your monitor
IGPU --> processing the multimedia data in the background

@itwas, I appreciate this help. And I have to say im having a hard Time getting to the final result. I've been also reading one of your older posts: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/preview-not-working-in-osx-mojave-10-14.263027/page-4, I assume same issue.

Any help getting to the specifics, greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry....not following you? what is "framebuffer-less IGPU device is in there". I might be having a senior moment.
in other words : headless mode or empty framebuffer
coffee-lake empty framebuffer ig-platform-id=0x3E920003, 0x3E910003, something like that

@itwas, you're over my head here. I'm lost. going into clover configurator/Graphics and trying to match up from what your saying...I just can't figure it. I appreciate the help, any chance you could put it into newbie speak?

No need to mess with config.plist. Just try enabling IGPU in BIOS and see how it goes.

If no success, leave IGPU enabled in BIOS and try changing to iMac19,1 system definition.

to be specific, you should post your debug files, otherwise it is very hard to know what is happening on your system
are you using Whatevergreen or manally rename the devices ?

I've tried with both manual patch and Lilu/WTG

this didn't work either. 19,1 gives me black screens.

quick question why 19,1? I have an i7 would 19,2 be a better choice?

@pastrychef and @itwas good news...... and thanks for your patience.

I went back and added LILU and WTG to a 19,1 smbios and it looks like things are working.
I now see hardware decoding in MPV
I see VDA Decoder fully supporting in hackintool
VideoProc now show fully enabled.

One last question..... why 19,1?? since I have the i7-8700K, would I get better results with 19,2?
