The 4K Dell OptiMac - 9020 MT - Core i7-4790 - Radeon RX 570 - LG 4K IPS Monitor

I've tested this LG 27UK850 with my Macbook Pro over all connections it has (DP, HDMI and USB-C) and it works fine. However when I use it with my Hackintosh, I hit the keyboard key to wake the PC, monitor turns on but then since it's not receiving any signal it goes to sleep again.
Such is the nature of the hackintosh. Not everything is going to work perfectly on a PC designed for Windows, not macOS. There will be compromises, but you also gain a lot of things you can't get from a Mac such as low cost and ease of repair and upgrades. That's how I look at hackintoshing.

Boot up a disk with Win10 on it and 4K will work via HD4600. Sleep and wake will work etc. It's primarily that this hardware is not customized for macOS the way an iMac or Macbook Pro is.

Give the attached USB SSDT a try and then test BT again.

I'm having problems with my that.
BT has never worked for me really, but i didn't care. Now, I thought, might need it someday, so let's see.

I have 9020 MT, BCM94360CS2, wifi working OOTB. Connected to the usb header on the mobo.
But BT remains not found:

not seen on the bus as well:

a finally nothing in io:

tried windows, wifi worked after some trials, BT is giving me "usb device descriptor failure".

no idea what's next. is this a hardware issue? what do you think?

I totally agree, and I really really appreciate all the time you guys spent into creating this guide, tweaking, testing, etc. I don't want to look like I'm not thankful because I am, a lot!.

The thing is that I'm a bit nitty picky when it comes to display and sleep related stuff and when I took a look at the main guide I saw that everything was working, so I just assumed it was working fine as long as you were using one of the specified models. Maybe it's worth mentioning it on the guide as well!

I will still be doing some more testing, but looks like also when the screen (not the PC) goes to sleep, doesn't seem the screen wakes up. But again, will continue the tests.

Another "solution" I was thinking is that maybe if this PC doesn't consume a lot of electricity in idle, I could actually disable sleep, if it becomes a pain in the ass to get image on the display. OR increase the time it takes to go to sleep, so you don't have to be dealing with this many times a day.

Which brand of BCM94360CS2 did you buy ? Was it a pre-assembled or not ?

Cables (DP to DP is best) and DP Port choice might make a difference. What do you have for GPU?
I'm using a DP to DP cable, from my LG 27UK850 to the Optiplex 9020 SFF. I'm using the iGPU Intel HD4600

ncrease the time it takes to go to sleep, so you don't have to be dealing with this many times a day.
One person that was trying to use HD4600 for dual monitors for coding, don't think they were 4K, likely 1440p, was having similar problems. He installed the NVS510 (50 dollars on Ebay) and reported that cleared up all of his problems. I don't recall the name of the person or how long ago it was.

preassembled broadcom, from here

Yes I think he replied to me regarding how the 4600 will handle 4k. Actually I think he had 2x4k displays!.

I'm assuming that using the NVS510 will also make you go back to a macOS that supports Nvidia web drivers.

Not at all, that Quadro has native support in Mojave/Catalina so there are no drivers that you need to install. Apple provides them in macOS.

My guess is that the primary problems with HD4600 and a 4K monitor are related to that low 32mb DVMT pre-allocation that @nicksoph has tried to resolve. It's only about half of what is optimal and Dell doesn't offer a BIOS/UEFI that lets you change it.
