Hope you are ok.

Just finished yesterday my pc build, and everything is working as it should on Windows. But I'm struggling to Hackintosh it. If you can help it would be great.

Here's my scenario:

Gigabyte z390 Aorus Xtreme
i9 9900k
32 Gb Ram Corsair 3600Mhz
3 x m.2 Samsung Evo 970
Sapphire RX Vega 64
Be Quiet Dark Rock pro 4 CPU Cooler
Phanteks Enthoo Evolv X Glass Case

Motherboard updated with latest Bios vers. F5b

As said everything working as it should on Windows 10, except one of the front panel usb 3.0 ports (already contacting Phanteks for that)

Yesterday night, I tried to hack it following your guide and Bios settings. Changed everything as you mentioned except the following 2 points that I could not find on BIOS settings:

Chipset

• DVMT Pre-Alloc → 64M
• DVMT Total Gfx Mem → 256M

Anyway I have proceeded creating a new USB installer with Unibeast, following your instructions, and also modified config.plist with clover configurator.

After choosing 'install from usb disk' in clover boot menu, I could not get into phase 1 install, because system would stop in different stages, before arriving to the mojave install screen. (see attached some screenshots).

Tried from several usb ports, and only one of the usb 3.0 worked to go trough phase 1. (this after several trials). I managed to format one of the m.2 disks with disk utility, and went though phase 1 install without any restart in the middle. Only restarted after phase 1 finished.

After that, on second stage, after choosing 'install from Mojave' had another initial error, and did a force restart, on second try I could see again the install window. Right after that computer restarted by himself.

After that I tried thousand of times, and the system always stopping and could not get into install window again. After swapping and trying several usb ports, i managed to finish fase 2, and see the welcome screen. And finally entered entered on my new mojave.

My mistake was that I did not executed multibeast right away, and did a (stupid) restart. After that as I could not see mojave disk from the boot order menu on BIOS , I had to go again trough the usb disk clover, and choose ‘start from mojave’, hoping to see Mojave again to run multibeast.

The thing is that the system always hangs before getting there. So again tried from several usb ports, but always stops somewhere before getting there. (see attachment X and Y)

I really don’t know what’s going on. On my previous build I did not have any of these problems.

I don’t know if there’s a problem with the USB ports (or if swapping them was just lucky move), or if system hangs because i have i9 9900k cpu, or maybe something else.

Sorry about my long post. Hopefully you can give me some insights.

Wow -- you actually managed to get Mojave phase 1 and 2 installed on this Extreme motherboard!!

All the steps you mentioned are okay. The log even shows that the 10GbE Aquantia Ethernet port was properly initialized!

Is the freeze happening at Attachment Y?

Try adding the attached 2 files to CLOVER/kexts/Other folder of the EFI partition of the USB install disk. You will have to do this, of course, from a real Mac.

Then try booting the Z390 Extreme again, with USB.

I'm now on a real mac, and funny... i can't see EFI partition, only Install macOS Mojave. Is it possible??? What should i do? create a new install disk?

You have to mount the EFI partition of USB disk with EFI Mounter v3 or Clover Configurator.

Once it’s mounted, please compress and upload the entire EFI folder!


To fix the problem "Couldn't allocate runtime area" shown in Attachment Y, it's necessary to replace AptioMemoryFix-64 with OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000 in the CLOVER/driversUefi64 folder.

Posting this from my new Hackintosh

Found what was causing all my troubles was thePCIe wireless/Bluetooth card. Once removed, could immediately enter on Mojave and apply MultiBeast.

A)
Aquantia Ethernet worked out of the box without the need of kexts! Yes!

B)
After install, placed again thePCIe card on the same slot (PCIEX1_2), and macOS would not boot again. Changed the USB cable from the card from F_USB1 to F_USB2, and the same happened... no boot

Changed the PCIe card to PCIEX4 and macOS booted. Wireless worked immediately. Bluetooth not. Bluetooth shows as connected, but can't detect any device. Strangely, I can't switch Bluetooth off, so I presume it can be something related to USB.

I swapped the PCIe card from my fully working hackintosh (old one), and symptoms are the same:

Does not boot from PCIEX1_2. But, when boots from the other slots, still no Bluetooth. So, after testing the 2 cards (and one of them I'm sure it works), I suppose the new card is not defective. (Even when I place that card on old Hack, I have WiFi but no Bluetooth. Not even on System Prefs shows up.)

C)
Shut down does not work: When I hit shut down, it restarts.

D)
In MultiBeast, chose iMac 14,2, but computer shows as iMac (27-inch, Late 2013).

I have to finish post-install and try to fix the above. Unfortunately, I have some events during this weekend, and on Sunday I will be traveling to Italy. (Yes pasta!!) So I will take some time to fix everything. But I'm super-excited to get this done until now

Awesome!! Well done!

Do you still have the Intel CNVi WiFi/BT card in the Socket 1 slot? If so, it may be interfering with the BT on your PCIe card. You will have to disable the USB port (HSxx) for the CNVi. On Designare Z390, we have to disable HS14.

This means that MacOS is trying to use the Intel Bluetooth module on the CNVi device. You will have to disable HS14. But first you should run IORegistryExplorer and scroll down to "XHC" on the left side. You can see which port is connected to Bluetooth or post screenshot.

Also, have you connected the USB cable from PCIe WiFi/BT card to the motherboard (F_USB1 or F_USB2)? If not connected, then the Broadcom Bluetooth will not be enabled. Also, you will need a custom USB SSDT (or reduce total USB port count to 15 or less) otherwise even Broadcom Bluetooth won't work!!

This is correct. iMac14,2 is codename for iMac 27-inch Late 2013.

You're quite welcome! The last few little issues should be easy to fix...

Yes is still connected. Tomorrow I will try to see which port is connected to with IORegistryExplorer, and then you please explain how to disconnect it.

I disconnected the usb cable from my pcie card, to exclude this from the HS list, but after I restarted the computer could not seen any difference. I suppose is HS14 as well on my board (?)
