[Guide] Lenovo ThinkPad T440P

As part of those instructions in the FAQ it says to do

 sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions && sudo kextcache -u /

But, the guide in the thread that we are currently posting recommends putting kexts in

/Library/Extensions
so I presume I'm meant to run the command with that variant. Doing so and rebooting as instructed doesn't work.

I don't know if this is relevant at all. Yes, I rebooted without caches.

I've also attached my debug.

Thank you for your continued help. I may just retry this whole process now that I know the mistake I was making with unzipping that ALC3232.kext.zip properly.

Both will rebuild kernel cache. The kextcache -i variant is easier to type.

I've also attached my debug.

Your kextcache shows ALC3232.kext not loaded properly (you likely did not boot without caches right before doing the kextcache -i).
It must appear prior to the "KernelCache ID" if you expect it to work.

Try again. Make sure you run the kextcache -i immediately after booting.

I just got a used T440p, and, as an experiment, decided to try this guide with a spare hard drive. So far so good! The installation went off without a hitch and it boots into High Sierra just fine. There are a few lingering issues, though. Specifically:

- The Trackpad works, including gestures, but it's painfully slow. Adjusting the tracking speed in the mouse settings has no effect. Is there any way around this? (Also, a way to get the OS to see the trackpad as a trackpad and not as a mouse?) At the moment it takes two or three full drags to get across the screen.

- The battery indicator does not show up in the menu bar. I saw some posts about this earlier in the thread, but they seem like they might be a little out of date. Ditto the brightness hotkeys (though I saw a separate thread about that here that I haven't looked through yet.)

Edit: Both of these issues were resolved by following the guide more closely--in particular by compiling the hotpatch myself via Rehabman's guide using the files provided in the initial post.

- The video is a little hitchy still. I'm assuming this has something to do with the laptop's graphics configuration--it has both an integrated GPU and a GeForce? (To be honest, I'm not sure how this works in Windows, either. I used to have a Voodoo 2 that had a pass-through thing; surely that's not the case here, right?) I don't see a way to disable either in the BIOS and I'm assuming macOS is going to have trouble coming to terms with this odd relationship, but maybe there's a workaround?

If anyone could point me in the right direction on solving these problems I'd be very grateful!

Use the gen_debug.sh tool mentioned in the FAQ, that way it is less likely you'll omit something.
 
Hi there. I just have updated macOS to 10.13.6, which is the latest version before 10.14.x, as my final try on this old laptop. Most of the hack is working good. But USB is not.
It's seems like USBInjectAll.kext not working and as a result, BT and camera dead.
I search for solution for hours such as add something to config.plist but fail. Problem reporting file is attached and hoping someone nice can help me out. Thanks a lot !!

You installed USBInjectAll.kext incorrectly.
It is easy to see in your kextcache output:

USBInjectAll.kext does not authenticate; omitting.

You have similar problems with other kexts: Lilu.kext, and maybe IntelGraphicsFixup.kext.
