[Update] Sierra on the Skylake H170N-WIFI

Same problem here. All USB ports works for USB2 devices, or when using USB3 devices with USB2 cable, but the USB3 devices are not working (Ex: an HD enclosure USB3 will not mount).

One error I did was initially, my Multibeast install did not included checking the box of the "Increase Max Port Limit 100 Series". So I did install it on top, without success. I have also tried a bunch of things documented in this thread without success. I probably think the answer is somewhere buried in this 27 pages this thread has become but can you please help me?

In order to help you help me, here are some details:
I have a H170N-WIFI, no Wifi/BT since I use Ethernet (I have removed the stock chip)
Processor is a i5-6500
I use onboard Video and audio

Can you please help me figure out what I did wrong to make the USB3 behave as USB2?

So it looks like if you're using an nVidia card you just need to update your drivers. If you're using integrated graphics (like I am - HD 530), you'll run into a kernel panic at boot after updating from the App Store.

I posted a fix in the first post of this thread titled Kernel panic after 10.12.5 update (freezes at boot). Credit for the fix goes to ****** user u/corpnewt.

I'm trying to follow your instructions. But I have a problem. How does one update clover if MacOS hangs during boot? How do you access the EFI partition to move new kexts?

Edit: here's my update after nearly two hours of searching, everything is up and running. Had to set an invalid ig-platform-id (0x12345678) during clover boot, I also disabled AppleALC. Finally was able to boot into MacOS and make necessary changes.

BTW, contrary to instructions for the plist. If you instead choose to inject intel and leave the ig-platform-id at 0x0. This will allow the system to display correct graphics ("Intel HD Graphics 530...") instead of "... Graphics SKL CRB" under About This Mac's overview tab.

Hey. I have managed to get almost succesful install, only thing I'm really missing is sound. I've been struggling quite a bit, tried Multibeast following the ElCap guide to a T. This is my first Hackintosh, so a bit of hand holding is appreciated.

Config as follows:
i7-6700
GTX 1070
H170N
16GB RAM

Any ideas?

I had my Sierra 12.3 working perfectly in my system until my system did an auto update to 12.5.
since than i trying to install it right on my system.

I have the h170 n wifi
i7 6700k
XFX rx480.

when trying to install on my system freash 10.12.5 I get kernel panic at the apple logo after the installation.
could anyone walk my through the installation- preferably someone with RX480.

I have tried patching the kexts you mention on your guide but with no success.
I am losing my mind just before 2 huge video editing projects.

I managed to solve it. During Multibeast I needed to click off 100 and 200 series sound aswell. Not just the ALC1150.
