Happy to report that my inateck 5 port + 1 20 pin header USB 3.0 card works OOB. I have my 2 front case ports connected to the 20pin header giving me a total of 7 functioning USB 3 ports. Doubt they'll all give full speed performance at once but it does give some more flexibility. No time for speed tests tonight.

My case is getting a bit cramped. All my PCI slots are now occupied or covered by the GPUs.

Finally got to a coffee house to get my laptop online. I couldn't read the text in your videos from my iphone (I'm still on the road).

I suspect conflicts from old files in you 10.9 install. Plug in your 10.11 USB installer. Start the system holding the delete key to reach the BIOS. navigate to the boot page. scroll down to the boot override section and choose the USB installer. When you reach the Clover GUI choose your "updated" boot SSD. Once you boot, make sure you delete HWMonitor.app from the applications folder (/Applications) because each version is only compatible with it's exact version of the sensors that are contained in the FakeSMC.kext. Delete fakeSMC.kext, and any other kexts that were installed to /System/Library/Extensions in your previous install. I think I color coded all of them from the 10.9/10.10 guides. Also, Mount your boot drive's EFI partition and delete your old DSDT from EFI/Clover/ACPI/patched. Ensure that SSDT-0.aml is present in the ACPI/patched folder and DSDT.aml is NOT present. Ensure that fakeSMC.kext is present in the kext/10.11 folder. If not, add all the correct new files from the guide's attached .zip by following the guide. I'm sorry if I confused you or anyone else but I dramatically changed the way we are using the files now. All kexts but 1 are now kept in EFI/CLOVER/Kexts/[OS Versions] and clover injects them at boot time instead of loading from SLE. Also, Your DSDT created with older patch lists are not compatible with the new ACPI files. I added most all of the fixes from the DSDT patch list to SSDT-0.aml which will be active at every boot allowing all the fixed devices to be functional without having to create a DSDT first. This is now a necessity as we have to fix the USB devices before we can boot. If you have a DSDT with the same fixes as SSDT-0, they will conflict and SSDT-0 won't load correctly or won't load at all. I still recommend creating a DSDT using the included "DSDT stripper" patch list as it fixes IRQ conflicts which may cause internal USB 2 headers not to work or other erratic behavior but everything else will be fixed by SSDT-0.aml. The DSDT stripper may only be compatible with the newest BIOSs for the R4E (v4901) and R4BE (v801) so you may need to update your BIOS.
It won't boot. I keep getting DVI No Signal and then it restarts again. Any idea what that could be?

Thanks for the Bios Screenshots. Well it just confirms that Asus did something with the newer revisions of the X79 although I thought the R4E Black Edition came out in 2013? I have to call Asus as to why some ports may still be enabled in the rear after Disable ASMedia.

Thanks

hi shilohh.
i bought your same cards. i have one issue:
when i tried to put my system in sleep mode, it wakes up immediately. i haven't this problem if i unplug the usb3 pci express card, so i'm sure it is its fault. i think it is a hub issue (the vli one) because this same thing happens if i try to use my built in monitor usb3 hub (i have asus pb278q with g-sync)
can you confirm this?
if so, how to fix it?

issue n2:
when i try to create my new dsdt with your dsdt stripper, i have this error while compiling (length is larger than min/max window).
chasing this values i solved it, but i'm not sure it is the right way:

i change this 0xFDFC0000 to 0xFDE00000,

issue n.3. when using mount efi or mount any efi app, i have this error. how can i solve it?

@ lovelybrown,
can you pleas post another video of your verbos if you have done the things that I posted for you.

@ osxfr33k,
I think it's just the X79D that has USB 3 initializing this way. I bought my R4BE earlier this year and I'm pretty sure it's the newest revision as newegg had been out of stock previously. I not positive on it's manufacture date.

@ xelanaiznac,
I'll do some testing this evening to try and reduplicate your issues. I just installed the card yesterday and didn't try sleep.

I was trying to fix imessage and somehow my efi partition got corrupted. My mac partition no longer boots but my windows one does.. Is there any way to fix the efi partition without completely reinstalling the OS?

Im trying to boot into mac after patching the dsdt file using the stripper, and an AppleUSBXHCI driver is causing me a kernel panic every time now. Any thoughts on this?

@jbenito7 & lovelybrown,

Please read and verify that you have done everything I have NOW listed at the top of the original post for updating to El Capitan.

I can't reduplicate any of these issues on my machine. Are you using different ACPI files (SSDT) or config.plist?
