[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Quite a few issues... Anyway, I've tried to fix them all, but please backup your existing CLOVER folder then replace it with the attached version (rename it to just CLOVER, of course).

Remember: If the system fails to boot with this version, just use the USB flash disk to boot and let me know.

Also, when the system is fully operational, make a full bootable backup.

Mojave bootable backup
Catalina bootable backup

Everything is booting correctly with your version. Thank you very much !!

Now I have the iCloud/iMessage error message...

And is the system ready to go to 10.15.3?

  • You should not upgrade without first having a full bootable backup.
  • Did the iCloud/Messages problem exist even before using the new CLOVER folder?

It's the first time I see this prompt... I didn't have issues before.
It may be due to missing EmuVariableUefi.efi. Please copy attached file into the CLOVER/drivers/UEFI folder and reboot.

Done, same error... should I try logging in ?
Because you didn't state the error message itself, I'm guessing it's a login issue. If you are logged in to iCloud, Messages and FaceTime, then log out of each one and then re-login starting with iCloud.

Done and now everything works.

Let me get on that backup, but I know for a fact that 10.15.3 update didn't work before all this ordeal.

Please do not quote the full build guide. It says so right there at the top...

Next, see the Warning for RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT Owners also at the top. Are you sure the reboot happens only when running Unigine Valley Benchmark, and nothing else causes a reboot?
Hi,

sorry I deleted the quote.

I have random reboots.
When I open Final Cut Pro Export window. When I run Valley bench, and here and there...
I dropped a RX 570 and Valley had run for a while with no issues.
I run the RX 5700XT on Windows and it doesn't have issues. No PSU issue.
I'm not using Photos at all or have any icloud connected that could run photos.
Tested -wegoff but no difference.

But I also have an Intel 660p SSD. I've read they don't work. Is it true?

Do you have a Photos library with some photos in it? The random reboots might be due to something else, but the first thing we should check is whether a Photos library file exists in the Pictures folder. If so, please follow that link (from the top of Catalina Mini-Guide) to see your options.

Holy moly! There was a library! BUT I never even opened Photos. Not even once.
The installation is new; the user is new.
I deleted it, and emptied the trash.

Valley and Export windows in Final Cut Pro still reboots.
