@canyondust: I did manage to boot from the red USB type "A" port, by allowing Thunderbolt Booting in BIOS>Peripherals>Thunderbolt. Sierra Installation works and High Sierra installation seems to be progressing fine from the 3.1 or 3.0 ports; I'm using the latest UBSInjectAll.kext and XHCI-200-series-injector.kext (Which might be redundant, but doesn't seem to hurt anything).
