So after the latest version of Clover destroyed my last setup, I now did a clean install to High Sierra. Everything seems to work fine, except my turbo boost is not working.

After reading up on some guides It was suggested to change my System Definition to iMac 17,1. When I do this, after the boot sequence, I get a black screen. The system seems to be running, but not the display. I then restart, turn of Nvidia web drivers, and it seems to be working again. If I try to turn on the Nvidia web drivers, I get back to square one.

I've tried to change my System Definition through Clover and Multibeast. Nothing seems to work.

What can I do? Do I actually need to change my System Definition to iMac 17,1 to get turbo boost up and working? If not, how do I fix it. I tried the guide "macOS Native CPU/IGPU Power Management", but as I read, I need to have it configured as iMac 17,1.

Thanks for any inputs!

I made a s***ton of searching, and I didn't manage to find that, thanks! I'll look into it (looooong thread o_O).

You wouldn't have an answer to if I actually need to change my system definition to iMac 17,1 to get my turbo boost working?

It's a 'sticky' in the Graphics forum.

The guide is Post #1 - You don't need to read the whole thread.

Correct, I wouldn't but it seems unlikely that that is the solution.

Well, given that I've used Google and the search bar I'm impressed I haven't manage to find that the past hour. My bad tho.

Seems like it's a tad outdated since NvidiaGraphicsFixup.kext not have been implemented in another package, but I'll try and see what I can do.

As I said in the post, that's where I found the requirement. It says, under settings, that Skylake 6xxx should use SMBIOS iMac 17,1.

Yes, NvidiaGraphicsFixup.kext is now included in WhateverGreen.kext as per :

Just an update. WhateverGreen.kext (+ Lilu.kext) fixed my problem. I tried to follow the guide, tho Intel FB-Patcher kept crashing when pressing "Generate Patch". Anyway, without continuing with the guide I did a reboot, and changed my System Definition to iMac 17,1. And no black screen on boot. Still have to figure out how to fix the turbo boost, but I'll mark this one as solved.
