Recently purchased the ASUS Gryphon Z97 + ASUS ThunderboltEX II Expansion card. My goal is to be able to connect my custom Mac up to my existing 27" Thunderbolt Display. So far I have:
"Intel Thunderbolt Configuration" shows up in my Bios settings, so I know the MB is detecting the card.
I do not have a stand-alone GPU and I am using only the on-board graphics.
My next step was going to try to reinstall OSX and see if that made a difference. Does anyone have any other suggestions for how to make this work? The ONLY thing I wanted to work was the display, and that's the only part that doesn't seem to be working.
- Updated BIOS to the latest version
- Made sure the Thunderbolt card was in the correct PCIe slot (PCIEX16_3 per the manual)
- Changed the Thunderbolt PCI-E Cache-line Size to 128
- Changed the security mode to "No Security"
- Removed all TB related kext files
