Recently purchased the ASUS Gryphon Z97 + ASUS ThunderboltEX II Expansion card. My goal is to be able to connect my custom Mac up to my existing 27" Thunderbolt Display. So far I have:
  1. Updated BIOS to the latest version
  2. Made sure the Thunderbolt card was in the correct PCIe slot (PCIEX16_3 per the manual)
  3. Changed the Thunderbolt PCI-E Cache-line Size to 128
  4. Changed the security mode to "No Security"
  5. Removed all TB related kext files

"Intel Thunderbolt Configuration" shows up in my Bios settings, so I know the MB is detecting the card.

I do not have a stand-alone GPU and I am using only the on-board graphics.

My next step was going to try to reinstall OSX and see if that made a difference. Does anyone have any other suggestions for how to make this work? The ONLY thing I wanted to work was the display, and that's the only part that doesn't seem to be working.:roll2:

Update

Despite reading that you didn't need the Windows End Around; turns out you actually do. I installed all the drivers that come on the DVD in Windows 7 and I had video working.

I just installed on a spare drive, loaded the drivers, and then took the drive back out. You only need it once.
