I finally got everything working on my Asus Z170 Premium. Including airplay!

There is one last problem though. I have Nvidia GTX960 and two Samsung 4K@60 hz monitors. If I boot with Display port setting 1.2 in the monitor settings, the system boots up but I get a black screen on both the monitors.

However, if I change the DP version of my primary monitor (where I see boot log) to 1.1 before selecting drive in clover menu, both the monitors start normally. I then have to switch back the DP version back to 1.2

Does anybody know what might be going wrong?
(I want to post a perfect guide this time and this is the last thing.)

Fixed using AGDPFix by tonymac. I am now using iMac 17,1 with 4K@6Hz on DP 2.0

Can you share info on the monitor you're using?

I've not had success with AGDPFix in getting a Dell U3214Q to run on Sierra on DP 1.2. A black screen is as far as I get. HDMI is fine, but that's only running at 30hz. I'm wondering if it's a DP issue or something because the monitor is MST. Something tells me it has to be a config issue. I have no problem getting 60hz on the Dell through mini DP cable on a 2014 Retina MacBook Pro.

I have two Samsung U28E590 4K @ 60 hz monitors. I haven't updated to the latest Sierra 10.12.3 I believe, so I can't say for sure if AGDP will work. Currently on 10.12.2 it working. Check my sierra installation guide for the config that I am using.

One more thing. Try this,
1. Set your DP IN YOUR MONITOR SETTINGS to 1.2 and turn on the computer.
2. On the clover menu, change the DP version to 1.1.
3. IF this setting works, then log into your account and when you are on The home screen, change the DP version back to 1.2

DONT BOOT WITH DP VERSION 1.1 directly. Switch the version as I said. It miGht not make sense but on El Capitan, this was the only way for me to get 4k @60 hz and this trick worked every single time for 1 year until I got sierra and I didn't need it anymore.

Thanks. That is a bizarro workaround.

I made progress on my particular issue. I'm able to get the display to show in DP 1.2 mode if I use SMBIOS from MacMini 6,2 or MBP 11,2. It's but a black screen when I boot via iMac 14,2 or 17,1. This is on 10.12.3. I wasn't able to download 10.12.2.

Why SMBIOS 17,1 works for the U28E590 but not U3214Q? I'm guessing it's the SST / MST difference between them.
