But Thunderbolt does not work much. I have a belkin TB2 dock, connected via the Apple TB3-2-TB2 adapter:
  1. LG 34" display works (hot pluggable)
  2. Ethernet port works
  3. Trancend External drive does not work / not recognized even after restarts
  4. Apogee Duet does not work even after restarts
  5. Apple keyboard not working - silly, in the pre-boot phase it is recognized. I can use it in the BIOS.
Thunderbolt section in the System Report says No drivers loaded

Pity, actually...

PS: From time to time the system gets really laggy, could not identify the reason yet.

What is actually the difference between the VoodooPS2Controller.kext latest version 1.8.29 and the one in the post #1 (1.8.25)?

Thanks, there are - actually were - some issues causing massive unresponsiveness, like too many interrupts. It could be anything, I was not able to track it down yet.

Not related to PS2...

Use the gen_debug.sh tool mentioned in the FAQ, that way it is less likely you'll omit something.

What could be the reason for trackpad not working with the most recent version?

See above...

I think I figured it out - it's not a software problem but hardware. I fired up the Intel Power Gadget while doing some video encoding and watched the CPU managing to work maybe 10 seconds before throttling kicked in and the system became slow and laggy. Once the temperatures went down everything became normal again. Some research on the Internet revealed that I'm not the only one having these issues, but also most gamers.

That is a shame as I bought this laptop mainly to run audio and (some) video stuff. Strange, at first everything went fine. There must be a way to use it at the limit but safe. Why would you buy a laptop with such CPU you cannot really use as much as you should be using it.

Here we go, the tool is not working flawlessly but I think it did the job.

Current issue is the battery status, it does not update the battery level, I have to turn off "show percentage" and turn it on again to update the reading. Other than that I think everything is OK.
