Does 'Recovery HD' still boot into Recovery after starting the update?

Edit: I expect it does. Can you boot into El Capitan after starting the update and post the output of

Edit 2: You could try installing Clover from the installer package , selecting 'Install .rc scripts to target volume' and 'EmuVariable-UEFI-64.efi' in driver selection, reboot, then restart the update process.

I already installed r4045. Is it safe to "downgrade" like that?

Best,

Mine worked perfectly when I used UniBeast 7.1. The previous version didn't work which is why people had the problem of not seeing an option to boot.
Unibeast is for fresh installs, right?
I want to upgrade from ElCap without having to reinstall/configure everything.

It worked! You're the best!
(I used r4049)
Can you explain a little bit so that I learn something?

Have a great one!
Thanks again

Glad it is working. I'm guessing that the extra boot entry is passed to the bootloader in NVRAM with a target volume and a path to the installer disk image. After looking at the 2 pre-boot logs you provided i went into one in this post about it, although the problem was unrelated in that case.

nope. i didn't do a fresh install. just don't wipe your hard drive. it tells you that in the install instructions on here, you only follow step 6 a-h if you want to do a fresh install. if you don't want a fresh install but just update your OS, don't do step 6.
