I'm in the process of purchasing parts for my Hackintosh and I noticed that I only saw Crucial brand RAM under the parts list.
I was wondering, has anyone successfully tested other brands or am I limited with Crucial RAM only?

is the same using CRUCIAL TWO(2) CT8G4DFD8213 8GB sticks bought separately as using the CRUCIAL 16GB kit(2x8GB)? as for dual channel and general performance, do I need to buy specifically the 16GB kit to give the hackintosh dual channel capability and better RAM performance? I ask cause, see...

I have 2x8GB DDR3-1866 Crucial Ballistix Tactical, which shows up correct in the BIOS, but when I go to System Profile in Yosemite, it reads as DDR3-1333. Is this something I need to be concerned about? Is it just a software bug? Is there a fix?
