Guide: Update OS X Mavericks to OS X Yosemite Using UniBeast and MultiBeast

I have to say, the problems and frustration level that comes with this update just isn't worth the trouble. I first loaded Yosemite to a new hard drive as a completely new install. Everything went fine until I got to the setup screen you get once you've installed the OS. No bluetooth mouse and I...

    [Updated] wildwillow's Haswell Build: GA-Z87X-OC - i7-4770K - HD4600+GT 640

Wildwillow, I found the problem with sleep. This might help others with the Z87X-OC and OC Force mb's. There's a button on the motherboard called OC Ignition. It looks like a lightning bolt. If it's lit, OC Ignition is on. Press the button to turn it off. Then boot the computer. Sleep works fine...

    [Updated] wildwillow's Haswell Build: GA-Z87X-OC - i7-4770K - HD4600+GT 640

Nope, disabling internal graphics and changing IGPEnabler to No didn't work. What's so odd is that it doesn't seem like the computer actually sleeps. Instead, it's more like it was turned off but what's even more odd is that the fans keep going. Only way I can shut them off is to turn off the...

    dyuhas' Dual-boot Bitfenix Phenom-M (mATX) Build - i7-4770K, GA-Z87MX-D3H, 16GB 2400Mhz Memory, GTX

I get that too at the login screen, did it under Mountain Lion as well. My current build uses the 770 nvidia card and the previous one used the GTX580. Don't know what the snow is about but it goes away after a few seconds. Bob

    [Updated] wildwillow's Haswell Build: GA-Z87X-OC - i7-4770K - HD4600+GT 640

As a matter of fact, IGPEnabler is set to Yes. I'm not using internal graphics and Bios does have PCI set in the Init Display First but onboard graphics is not disabled. Let me try that. Thanks, Bob

PLL Voltage, I believe you're right. Let me check that. There's all kinds of stuff in console but none of it makes any sense to me. I'm going to check that PLL voltage now. Thanks, Bob

    GA-Z87X-OC Force Motherboard Power Button

Here's an update on this power button issue for future reference. It appears to have something to do with the case and it's power cables. I found that if I press the power button once, the board powers on. Then if I press the case power button a second time and hold it for a few seconds, the...

    [Updated] wildwillow's Haswell Build: GA-Z87X-OC - i7-4770K - HD4600+GT 640

Ok, just discovered something. I rechecked the power connections from the case to the F Panel and they were good. I pressed the power button on the case and same thing happened, power went on, fans went on, but board didn't boot and LED readout still blank. Then I pressed the power button again...

    [Updated] wildwillow's Haswell Build: GA-Z87X-OC - i7-4770K - HD4600+GT 640

The computer never wakes. With the case door off, the LED readout will show A0 when the system is running properly. When I put the computer to sleep from the Apple menu, the display shuts off, the LED readout shuts off, but my fans in the case keep running. I'm using the Gigabyte 770 video...

    [Updated] wildwillow's Haswell Build: GA-Z87X-OC - i7-4770K - HD4600+GT 640

Hi, I was wondering about sleep. I have the GA-Z87X-OC Force MB which is working just fine except for sleep. I can put the MB to sleep but it won't wake after I do so. It seems to me that in a previous Hackintosh I built, there was a setting in the Bios that fixed that problem but I don't...

    GA-Z87X-OC Force Motherboard Power Button

Hi Guys, I just got my GA-Z87X-OC Force MB up and running with Mavericks and I'm a bit perplexed. When I press the power button on my case (Cosmos II), the motherboard power's up but it seems to be in some sort of suspended mode. The MB has its own power button in the upper right hand corner...

    Couple of Mavericks Issues

One issue I have been having on my Hackintosh as well as a Macbook Pro is a phantom email in my inbox. The inbox can be completely empty but the email badge shows 1 or even 2 unread emails in the inbox. The recent update to mail seems to have fixed the problem. Just wondering if anyone else has...

    OS X 10.8.4 Update

Updated with the Combo, applied Multibeast both before and after reboot but no sound now. Had sound before the update. Also set System to iMac but the About this Mac box shows Mac Pro. I'm using the GA-Z77X-UP5 TH. Had to plug my Sound Blaster dongle into a USB port to get sound. Don't...

Sorry, I'm not sure I can be much help, I'm no expert by any means. It took me several different motherboards before I was able to get everything to work out of the box using this motherboard but that doesn't mean it will work for everyone because there are other factors such as the other...

Don't know, never tried it per se. I do have Rosetta Stone and it works. The software says a word or sentence, and then you say it back into the microphone. As I've said, except for the Thunderbolt ports, everything seems to work just fine. I don't have any thunderbolt devices so I have no...

[SUCCESS] shipbu1lder's build of GA-Z77X-UP5-TH, i7-3770K Regarding your questions: 1. There are lots of cases to choose from, you just need to take a look at Amazon or Newegg and decide for yourself what suits your needs. I chose the Cooler Master Cosmos II for basically two reasons - I...

[SUCCESS] shipbu1lder's build of GA-Z77X-UP5-TH, i7-3770K I wish I could help you but I'm just not much of an expert on the Hackintosh at all. My first hack build used the UD5H board and I never could get everything to work with it. This build was an upgrade more or less from that one and I...
