High Sierra Video editing, day trading, and occasional gaming build

Thanks for the reply. I was going with the buyers guide for the card, but the onboard Ethernet should work right? I don’t need Bluetooth and prefer a wired network anyway, so unless there’s an easy to get alternative I’ll leave the card out for now.

Anyone? I'm ready to buy, want to make sure I don't mess it up!

High Sierra Video editing, day trading, and occasional gaming build

Will this build work? I'll be running windows in the morning for trading and then switch to High Sierra for the rest of the day to edit video in premiere pro and photos in lightroom. On the mac side I'm primarily concerned with stability. Does this look workable? ASUS ROG Maximus IX Hero Z270...

    Radeon Vega RX 64

That's awesome to hear! Performance tests I've seen so far put it close to a 1080 card and it costs half as much. Might not stack up completely against a 1080 ti monster, but for the price and out-of-box support it seems like a great choice.

    Radeon Vega RX 64

That's what I thought, so looks like I'm waiting on my build until High Sierra is released.

    Radeon Vega RX 64

The new Vega cards release on August 14th. How likely is it that these cards will be supported on Sierra / High Sierra? Do radeon cards work with adobe premiere pro?

Dual boot editing and gaming rig - Kaby Lake

AH gotcha. Yeah, it'd be nice to go AMD, more monitor choices with freesync too for better prices. But I'm fairly certain the build I've put together will be more than adequate for the editing and gaming I intend to do.

Dual boot editing and gaming rig - Kaby Lake

I almost pulled the trigger on a 6700K build, but when I was about to buy I found out Kaby Lake support is imminent, so below is my updated first hackintosh build. 3 questions: 1. Is anything missing or wrong? 2. Can you recommend a good Gsync monitor for video editing and gaming? 3. How much...

Pro Video Editors, I need your advice please!

I'm going to build something very similar to this. I had originally planned a 6700K / 170 build but now that Kaby Lake support is imminent I'm going 7700k instead. I also planned to go with an Asus motherboard, is there any concern with the 1080 ti interfering with the wifi card in the PCIe...

    Wait for Kaby Lake ?

I was about to pull the trigger on my first build, but seeing now that Kaby Lake chips will be supported very soon in sierra should I build a 7700k build, and if so, what do I need to know to be sure it will be successful?

First Build: Premiere Pro editing / Lightroom / dual boot PC gaming rig

Thanks for the feedback! I'm not concerned about moving it, but you did trigger a question regarding the size: Should I have any concern with the size of the cooler interfering with any of the other listed components in the case?

First Build: Premiere Pro editing / Lightroom / dual boot PC gaming rig

Update: After doing more research it looks like Link Aggregation doesn't work too well on a hackintosh or a mac in general, so I'm less concerned about multiple network ports (Unless something has changed?). So that said, it looks like the recommended GB boards are all out of stock, so can...

First Build: Premiere Pro editing / Lightroom / dual boot PC gaming rig

EDIT: After reading half the forum I think I've settled on the build below, which is a very close copy of Stork's Hero build. Is there anything I should be aware of before I pull the trigger? Should I consider a liquid cooler instead of the Noctua? I chose it because it's quiet, but will it...

First Build Hardware Questions - Media Server

Interesting thoughts on the RAID 5. I hadn't ever heard the reliability issues before. My primary reason for RAID 5 over 10 is the available space. On an 8x3tb array I get almost 20tb usable in RAID 5 but only 12tb on a RAID 10. Still, it's definitely worth doing more research. Thanks for the...
