Other than the case above, I don't know of any cases with 8 outward-facing 3.5" bays.

Corsair Obsidian and Carbide cases have 6 outward-facing, excluding the 200 and 300 series. You could mount two drives in the foward-facing 5.25" drive bays.

This is my final list, I'm purchasing tonight, so if anyone notices any pitfalls please let me know ASAP! For reference, I updated the processor and the case.

I don't consider myself an expert on RAID - I've used 0/1/5 in various situations and I'm planning on adding one to my build soon so I've been doing a good amount of reading.

I see a lot of warnings against RAID 5 due to the increased chance of rebuild errors as storage capacities increase (should a drive fail). I'm not here to judge, but if you haven't done a good amount of homework comparing RAID 5 to RAID 10, I'd recommend it. Personally after all the reading I've done on the subject in the last few weeks, when I saw you planning to do 20TB RAID 5, I panicked a little envisioning the anxiety of losing that much data due to a rebuild error.

Other than that, it looks like an absolutely fantastic build.

Best of luck!

Interesting thoughts on the RAID 5. I hadn't ever heard the reliability issues before. My primary reason for RAID 5 over 10 is the available space. On an 8x3tb array I get almost 20tb usable in RAID 5 but only 12tb on a RAID 10.

Still, it's definitely worth doing more research. Thanks for the tip! Drive costs just dropped last night, I'm ordering everything!
