That's what I did; loaded the defaults and installed over OS X. I have used OS X since I was 8 (I'm 22 now). But, unfortunately, it just isn't as seamless and idiot-proof on my hardware. Even though countless others have run it perfectly. *shrug* I'll just get a Mac next year.

The problem I see is that the AppleMobileDevice.kext is not running. Ever. And there's no way to get it to run? I've reinstalled iTunes 9.2 four times now.

Ran the Kext Utility. Redownloaded iTunes 9.2 (after deleting it). Plugged in iPhone. Still no dice. *sigh* Finally got an error, at least: edit: Entered DFU mode and am currently restoring (even though none of my apps are backed up on Mac). So we'll see. Stuck in recovery mode. FML

Got The Sims 3 installed. However, upload launch of the game, there is no visual. I installed NVenabled via MultiBeast. Still no video. But there is sound. And if I try to force quit, it stops the sound, but leaves the screen blank, forcing a hard reset. Still nothing working for the iPhone...

Okay, I removed the IOUSBfamily.kext. Now the phone charges when connected, but iTunes still does not recognize it. It is, however, recognized under USB High-Speed Bus in System Profiler.

1) Not a hardware issue, as it syncs fine in XP (on the same hard drive). 2) I am not sure what Quartz is... And yes, it is a hybrid disc. Says so on disc, box, and when it is in the drive, it can be opened (with pretty little graphics in the window), and the installer opens, etc., etc. mtx...

Edit: There's no sound on this fresh install. And no, my Harmon/Kardon SoundSticks are not recognized in the Sound preferences. Also, MultiBeast does not have the GIGABYTE menu. How do I get my audio drivers?

With nVidia being another option, I don't see why anyone would go Radeon. I ran a Radeon HD4890 for a while, and it wreaked havoc on my system, and never rendered games the way it was supposed to.
