Did you do this?
4. Reboot, boot from stick, remove kernel via terminal: rm /Volume/THE_DRIVE/mach_kernel
5. Reboot, try boot from hard drive - "Can't find" error, then choose USB stick.
If you want a small system build a ITX system.
i5 2500k = Sandy Bridge
H77 = Ivy Bridge
H67 = Sandy Bridge
But I recommend Ivy because it has integrated USB3 in chipset. Ivy Bridge support isnt so good right now but Apple will soon release 10.8 and then Ivy Bridge will probably be supported...
I just want to add a link to a thread I created regarding this motherboard. I had some problems and I asked some questions. After some conversation in the thread I have made a comment on how I got it working and what problems I still have...
If you are paying so much for SSD drives and plan on running video editing on the machine a i7 3770K would be my choice.
SSD: OCZ Agility series are not OCZs fastest series, Vertex is a little faster but OCZ have now got some bad reputation. Their are a lot of drive out there so look at some...
I will write step by step for clarity. It goes so fast to install from fast USB3 stick, write speed on stick is over 40MBps, to SSD drive so I do a clean installation every time.
1. Optimize BIOS and disable Intel xHCI Mode, EHCI Hand-Off (Disabled by default in BIOS) (Advanced/USB...
Now I have tested some times and get the same result.
Optmise BIOS and disable: Intel xHCI Mode, EHCI Hand-Off (Disabled by default in BIOS and I do not ever change it) and Asmedia USB 3.
USB stick with UniBeast 1.4.0 and BridgeHelper 4.0.1.
Install from stick.
Reboot, boot from disk, remove...
Ok, but I'm thinking is that if it is the same price why not get 1600 memory? If someone ever plan to upgrade the system can use the memory in a Ivy Bridge system and then run the memory in 1600 MHz instead of 1333.
It depends on your CPU but why not 1600 MHz memory? If you can change in BIOS 1600 MHz will give a little performance boost. If the price is minimal between 1333 and 1600 MHz, why not 1600?
I did a test where keyboard and mouse in Mac OS X didn't work. I rebooted, disabled Asmedia USB 3 and then keyboard and mouse worked. If Asmedia is the problem I do not know 100% but special optimizing things tend to give problems in general.
Will try some more.
EDIT.
It seems that the system...
CPU: Sandy Bridge
Motherboard Ivy Bridge
Interesting combination
MEM: Get 1600 MHz
Graphics: Do not know if it is supported. Isnt their ant 600 series card supported?
Optical: Do not know if it is supported.
OS: WHY WINDOWS?!?
If only game play a i5 K model will work just fine. Ivy Bridge...
I did just this.
In MultiBeast I did choose these alternatives:
- System Utilites
- ALC8xxHDA
- AppleHDA rollback
- non DSDT enabler for ALC898
- IOAHCBlockStorageInjector
- fakesmc
- fakesmc plugin - Motherboard
- Patched AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext - 10.7.4 Ivy Bridge
- hnak's network
-...
MEM: Only 4GB? It will work fine but get one 4GB now and one 4GB later.
PSU: I'm running a system with that CPU and slow budget graphics card with 160W PSU.
OPTICAL: Sony Optiarc is recommended but other drives some times work. Read in the forum and wiki.
FW: It is a low profile card. Good...
You install with UniBeast 1.4.0 and BridgeHelper 4.0.1 on a USB stick. Boot from stick, install Mac OS X, boot from stick and go to installation again, remove kernel, reboot and boot from stick but choose installed Mac OS X and get a error. Reboot and boot from stick and choose drive again and...
Audio and network works. Wifi and bluetooth is another story. This is what I had read in the forum.
The integrated 4000 GPU will be supported. It seems that Mac OS X v10.8 will be the big step for Ivy Bridge and fully integrated support for 4000 GPU. You do not need to get a extra graphics card...
I have tested USB3 and USB2 ports.
The USB3 ports are not from a separate chip but integrated in Z77 chipset. I installed Mac OS X via a USB3 memory stick from a USB3 port.
I have a system with motherboard Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe that I plan to install Mac OS X. I made a USB installation stick with Lion 10.7.4, Unibeast 1.4.0 and BridgeHelper 5.0. The installation worked great and then changed the kernel. Then I booted on the USB stick to boot the installed Mac OS X...
You can use the other processors but the integrated GPU is not supported. Use a 2105 or 2125 that has a 3000 GPU.
